1. PETA is challenging schools with live mascots to give them up. LSU needed a habitat that doesn't look anything at all like a cage. Mike has far more space than most zoo Tigers get.
  2. I am for the ethical treatment of animals and i dont like to see people starving pets and mistreating them.

But i think that those people cross the line when they start imposing their will for animals on other people with regard to speaking out on mascots.

These mascots are well cared for and in most cases have it better than if they were having to survive in the wild. LSU uses Mike The Tiger as a learning experience for kids that might never get to see a tiger.

In doing this they might just help that animal survive extinction.
  3. I've read (heard maybe... I can't remember exactly) that Mike's Cage will have like a ceremony on Monday.....
  4. Welcome Home Mike.

Hope you enjoy your new home. You deserve it.
  5. After Mike gets comfy in his new digs, Skip needs to think about getting him a female room mate. :yelwink2:
  6. There was video footage on LSUsports.net, but to watch it, you have to be a subscriber....which, currently I'm not.

Was anyone there and able to take pictures? Red???
  7. Yeah, old Mikie is getting up there in Tiger age....We need to start looking for a successor to the throne.
  8. What, his own little version of a Princess Diana to produce an heir and a spare?

    *sarcasm*
  9. I watched the video on LSU Sports site and Mike looked a little groggy to me. Wonder if they gave him a little something for the trip.

    He is something to watch..

I have always been awed by Tigers since getting to go to an LSU game as a little boy.
