It just became apparent to me what a great education you people received at LSU. And to think of all the jokes that were made at your expense for taking Art Appreciation as an elective. I want to tear up when I think about the suffering you must have gone through. It reminds me of Don Mclean singing "Vincent"...this world was not made for one as beautiful as you...
interesting topic - a little background on my submission... I got an e mail early in the football season from one of my oldest friends who graduated from Auburn, (and is comes from a family of big AU fans) with pictures from his son's birthday. His neighbor owns an art store, and one of the activities the kids did was to draw pictures with pastells. My buddy sent me a picture of his son's rendering of an "AU Tiger." I asked him via e mail, if the tiger was an "AU Tiger," why was he yellow, and not orange? He responded that his son(7years old) said that it was a real tiger, and not a tiger like Aubie. We met up to visit for the LSU/ALABAMA game and his son gave me the picture and they had even put a hard backing so I could put it in my office where I have my many other LSU items. I think Jack's picture is awesome, and I would submit that it could be a perfect model for a portion of Mike's cage. Note the distinct application of the pencil to sketch the image prior to addition on the pastel, and the keen multi-tonal use of color.
The kid has more talent than the rest of us "artistes" on this thread put together. And it has a tree.
I was dozing at the computer while goovin' on some tunes when all of a sudden my good friend Bob Marley appeared out of a cloud of smoke and sang to me "Draw it- Dey all will be glad dey saw it" This ones free to all the good folks who .... uh, uh ... whatever it is that ya'll did. Its call Rasta Tiger Vibration.
The Masterpiece "Nuances Of Boom" Simple yet refined, like a fine wine the artist rendition grows with time to reflect the depth's of emotion. Notice Stoops tears of desperation, Patrick White's inability to stay on his feet captured in in raw simple strokes. The artist truly captured the frustration of the OU Mimes as they attempt to form the OU to no avail. Art at it's finest.
??? My Fine masterpiece was a rendition of the Sugarbowl where said Artist did not see nor feel "a tree".
This thread is great. YEs must have a tree. thanks for the compliment on my work, I always look for different things. However I prefer to stay the same. the Tree is a must have. But I always try to grow as an Artist. I found Color to really bring my work to life.
