GNR was good until their God-forsaken, overdone revival. I'm so sick of hearing 'Welcome to the Jungle' I could scream. It's everywhere...those GTA commercials, Jim Romes radio show (yes, I know why, but still), sporting events on TV...enough is enough. And the Eagle 98.1 feels like they must play at least 2 of their songs per hour or their station will blow up. Moderation is a foreign concept in our society.
well, as a great band sang recently (and you can guess who...martin should know): you and me we'll all go down in history with a sad statue of liberty and a generation that couldn't agree pretty much sums up America today.
1) SOAD is nothing approaching "great", they make some good music but mostly stupid joke songs 2) Serj Tankian is about as relevant as Zach De La Rocha in his political commentary (which is to say, not really)
tonight was beatles night at shea. 40 years since their famous shea concert. ringo and paul sent in videos to play on the jumbotron. they had a tribute band recreate the concert. it rocked. the beatles are definitely one of the best bands in history. that fact cannot be questioned.
Agreed, except one salient point. Of all of the above, Bowie is the ONLY one still making relevant music today. Dude might be gay, but I don't have to sit next to him on the bus. Memo to Imam: Dude might be gay. Mick needs to turn into a rapper b/c from the clips I've seen dude really can't sing any more... I still can't believe Keith Richards still appears to be alive.... :hihi: I heard he was gonna will his body to science fiction upon his death... :thumb:
1. I don't think anyone will disagree, the Rolling Stones are past their prime. 2. Say what you want about Mick Jagger today, the dude has laid a lot of chicks. Also, the incredible stuff he wrote precludes me from ever calling him names( no matter how past his prime he is). 3. I like David Bowie. Not up there with the Who, but his **** is pretty awesome. 4. Seger blows. 5. Please, please don't ever say that ever again. Seger is not even in The Stones league and even people that are not Stone fans should agree. The Stones put out so much quality and so much influential stuff that I'm not sure how you can justify that statement. 6. For no apparent reason?? How about the fact that a lot of the bands that are quality these days listed the Beatles as their main focus. How about the fact that albums like Sgt. Pepper are un-****in believable. 7. Screw GNR's. I liked them alright, but I'm just not a huge fan..
Tongue was firmly in cheek about the Stones not being Seger. Sometimes sarcasm doesn't translate, I suppose.
