I'm glad someone opened this thread.Does anyone by any chance know where I can get the ohio-oregon game from earlier this year?I remember watching that game and caught a glimpse of something I never heard anyone say anything about.I saw troy smith get up off the ground ,turn arouns and stomp an oregon player in the face mask when he was on the ground and just wanted to watch the game again to make sure I saw what I saw. Thanks
That was Marcus Vick stomping on the calf of elvis dumervil. but troy smith has never played oregon...so maybe he was thinking of vick? idk
i can't stand either team. As i have said before many times, i lived in ohio for a while and my sister went to tOSU (she was completely converted to yankee status) and i had to hear hang on sloopy and OH-IO everyday. but i didn't say anything. i "rooted" for them against thugU and had to hear how great they were. then LSU wins the title the next year and i still got crap from all the buckeye fans; first thing i heard was that OSU could beat them. (though my english teacher gave me bonus points for being a loyal fan through the years). Not to mention the buckeye fans are just as crazy about woody "cheapshot" hayes and bama fans are about bear bryant. so, unless the stars align and miss state and 'bama win, i'll be rooting like hell for michigan. sorry buckeye fan, i love the tradition but, (LSU and OSU both love there bands) i guess i've met the wrong fans out of the bunch BTW the guy I went to school with the guy who dotted the I in 04 for the michigan game, clint phillips. he's a good kid
The teams are so evenly matched, that I can only say Ohio State due to home field advantage. Both teams took care of Iowa easily. Michigan State easily. Ohio State dominated a Texas team very early in the season. Michigan similiarly with Notre Dame and just as early in the season. Michigan has one more quality win in beating Wisconsin, and fairly easy as well. Troy Smith to parlay a chance at a NC while garnering the Heisman. It will be quite a special day for the young man. Ohio State pulls away in the 4th quarter, 23-10.
tOSU has had a better punting game this year, which could be a factor. Michigan's passing O is ranked 9th in the Big Ten, although they tend to throw deeper routes, which can effect the numbers... but they've been "average" throwing. tOSU puts the ball on the ground more than Michigan... I think Blue has only fumbled something like three times all year... but tOSU leads the nation with 21 picks. tOSU just has less holes in their game. Their offensive line is pretty damn good... and they have a few more ways to beat ya... particularly with Smith being able to take off running when needed. Most importantly, I'd put my money on Tressel over Carr to find the other teams weak points.
I could careless about this game. The winner will be in the BCS title game, I really don't care which of them it is. As long as its not both.
Looking back, both teams have had cake schedules, so who the heck can tell. I am taking Michigan with my nose firmly held. I just want to see the #1 knocked off. Besides that, we will see if Ohio State's defense is really all that against maybe the best competition all year.
