Actually, if Miles wants to go to Michigan, I hope he lets Skip know ASAP. That way Skip can officially start the search now and not after the New Year. Plus we won't have to hear all the crap that's coming for the next month.
I am going to tune it out. I don't give a **** about it. Miles needs to answer any and all questions about it by saying that he won't comment or the matter or even look at the matter until after our Bowl game, if at all. Saying something like that keeps him from getting boxed into any particular positions. If UM wants him bad enough, they'll wait. Besides, Carr will coach UM in their bowl game anyway, so there really is no rush. The team really needs to make sure that it stays focused and takes care of business. A loss in SECCG can wipe out two of our three goals in an instant. :crystal:
Re: Michigan coach Carr to step down after 13 seasons with Wolverines Yeah, of mediocrity... How long would he last 3-5 years tops... If we replace :milesmic: we need to find someone who sees this as the lost stop, and plans to be here for a long time. No NFL aspirations, or "dream jobs", it is time for  to be the dream job!!!
We knew it was coming. I'm not worried though. I think Miles will handle this properly, and everything will end up fine for our Tigers this season. However, I think we would be fools to not expect him to take the job. It is his dream, and with their history, 3 coaches in 40 years, he cannot pass it up now or he may never get the chance. I don't think he will let it affect the rest of the season, and I don't think the players will hold it against him. You would jump at the chance for your dream job too, I'm not going to hold it against Miles if it happens. He will not Saban us, when it's time he will make his decision properly. Since it is out in the air now I guess I can post this little piece of FWIW info. Five weeks ago I had to fly to Orlando for a business trip. The guy we went to meet owned 9 auto dealerships in Orlando. He was a big time Michigan Alum and Booster. On this day he told us that it was already in the works, and he was as close to certain as one could be without a signed contract that it was a done deal. At the time I didn't put to much stock into it because there was so much season left and no word of Carr retireing at the time. He had already lost to Appy State and there was the talk of his firing, but they are pretty loyal to their coaches so I put it to the side. It now looks as though he may have known something the entire time. We shall see.
Re: Michigan coach Carr to step down after 13 seasons with Wolverines lol you think he wants to go back to the nfl? this could be his last stop and dream job.
Re: Michigan coach Carr to step down after 13 seasons with Wolverines No, he wants to go to the golf course. And when he retires 3 years from now, we're looking for a coach again. Your forgetting, the man is even older than SabanFan.
If UM wants Miles, I'm sure they have contacted his agent and the ball is rolling if Miles showed interest. I like the way Miles has handled it already, he says he is focused on one thing and doesn't want to let the players down. I would rather him say that than pay lip service and say that he isn't interested. If Les is interested and wants the UM job and they work out a deal before the SECCG or BCS games, than I hope he comes out and just tells everybody about it. I think the honesty makes the situation so much better and it shows everything to the team and coaches and gets it all out on the table. Then they can go and focus on the bowl game. If there is something in the works, the rumors will not die and will pose a bigger distraction than just being honest and saying that you are going to UM. It would look ridiculous (in the event they went to the title game) that after the BCS title game, Les says he is leaving. That would be much more crueller to the fans and players versus telling everybody mid December that you are going to UM but that you are 100% focused on the team and the game. Honesty and openness I believe is the best way to handle it. Just do the opposite of what Saban did and you should be fine, Les.
