Just my opinion, but I don't think he's what we need. He doesn't really like to recruit, and how much longer will he coach?

I've also heard him say he wants to win at a place it's never been done. And the avid golfer is living by Augusta.

If Miles is offered the job at Michigan, I can't help but wonder if his decision will be based in part on the lack of support the fans at LSU have given him. I don't think the fans at LSU will like any coach for long, unless he wins a NC.

There seems to be a mind set that our players are so good, that if they were well coached they would win the NC almost every year. I don't believe it. There are too many factors involved. The Okla. team we beat in 03 is a perfect example. Tons of great players that won the national awards at their positions, good coaching, and no NC.

Too many LSU fans see the game through purple and gold glasses. They deny that a well coached, highly talented, better recruiting USC should win a NC, but they think we should, (and are ready to fire a coach with an incredible record because he hasn't won one).

I personally wish Les the best of luck, and I fully expect him to leave. I also worry about getting a new coach, because I remember when a great coach left LSU after going 26-8-2. The next coach went 27-18-1 (Arnsparger and Archer).

There are no guarantees, and the grass is always greener on the other side.

Good Luck Les, thanks for all the wins!

Man does this plot take more twist and turns - which coach is going where and what happens next.
Memphis sports talk radio guys are saying they hear from their counterparts in Little Rock that Tubberville is going to Arkansas - talking like it is a done deal. I don't really put any stock in it, just think its some radio jock's statement to stir the pot. However, if that did happen, the plot really gets thick - who replaces Tubberville? What effect does that have on the other head coach openings? This is just too much fun, I think I'll just go back to checking on things about the SECCG, at least I know that is LSU v UT.

I say pay him 3 million and hope he comes running! There is too much to risk by hiring an unproven coach. (I don't believe he would leave his little kingdom for a minute).

How to live the good coach's life:

    1. be the only good program that doesn't jump ship in the weakest BCS conference

    2. win that conference, and don't worry about one loss, because everyone in the major conferences will beat the crap out of each other anyway

    3. enjoy the ease of being overrated, and hope you get lucky in the NC game

Exactly........unless something freaky happens, the 2 best teams in the country this year will not be playing in the CG.

It's a good possibility if Les leaves.

Once more, not only living near Augusta, he is playing AUGUSTA because it was the "sweetner" that got him to take the job at USC. The OBC is not going anywhere. The Head is off to UM and who knows who will be next but unless you can move a golf course it isn't going to be SS.
