LSU can hire whoever the hell they want. there may be slight influence from a few idiots but they surely wont prevent it if the university decides otherwise. there are dumb rednecks in every state below the mason dixon. none are any more gifted than the rest. and Louisiana's dont have all that much money regardless what you hear.
Wait, so you also looked at his roster, an all the time, I thought I was the only one? I've been calling it the "Perfect Storm." Like I said, if he's gonna get out, this is his time to move on. His name will never be hotter, but could go to the Hot-Seat real fast. An to think, last year at this time he was almost looking for a job. The Egg Bowl win saved it. But wait, he lost the Egg Bowl this year, what now?
I agree with you tirk, but I live in the southern bayou area of Louisiana, and presently with our oil field, medical industry & shipyards building ships for the military, we have 2.7% unemployment which is tops in the nation. Contrary to what some may think we have an obscene amount of money in this area and a large LSU fan base. Again just thinking out loud, not trying to insinuate that I am in the power circles or anything.
i dont think anyone thought you were implying anything. oh i know theres a handful of influential boosters but most we hear from are just gnats who like to think they are. always a lot of buzzing but not a lot of action.
UT hired Strong, an yep color came into play, even there. I look at the coach, his resume, what he can do for our school. Strong was a last minute back-up, they had everything in place for nick, when this fell through, he was the guy. They still have a mixed bag there, the people that wanted to keep Brown, the ones that wanted to get rid of him, the ones that wanted nick, the ones that didn't want nick (The loss of control from within), the ones that wanted Strong and then the ones that didn't want Strong. A mixed bag. Oh, I forgot about the last group, they don't know what they want. All schools have some form of this, LSU is one, same with the Fan Base.
Seldom do color commentators get on my nerves during broadcasts but this year has been an exception in the MSU games I've seen. They've been spouting "the Bulldog depth" and "look what he's built" all season without paying attention to the fact it took three years of those players losing to get to this point. I think the numbers are nine on offense and six on defense (plus one if Dak leaves) the Dogs are losing this season. I don't know who will end up bring up the rear in the SECW next season—betting on one of the MIssissippi schools is what you'd find the sharps doing...
