i sent my scores to LSU, virginia, michigan, and nebraska. ive gotten a couple of letters from nebraska. i got a letter from LSU saying they would accept my french scores and give me the corresponding credits. i havent gotten anything from virginia or michigan but my scores did qualify for both of them. the rest of the letters ive gotten are all a bunch of smaller schools, bentley and washington university in st louis seem to send the most, TCU sends a lot too. getting the miami letters is always funny because they advertise such a nice campus, location, etc. then u see the FIU game and things like that lol oh and to the michigan fans, has johnny sears been playing much/well? i have seen him a couple times on special teams. he went to my HS. thanks for the info in advance.
If Michigan 1 is the same Michigan 1 who frequents the Hawkeye forum, then you guys (and gals) have a pretty good poster visiting. He is very knowledgable... and actually can talk strengths and weaknesses without getting all bent out of shape! On the issue of how well Michigan will travel for a Michigan/LSU game, the Wolverines are historically very bad "attendees" to bowl games in years where they have lost to tOSU. Last year, for example, Iowa was picked over them for the Outback for this very reason, even though Michigan had beat us head to head and should have been picked. Given this year is a BCS match up, they might show up... it will be interesting to see what happens. For the game... the edge right now would be with LSU, as the team and fans are more excited to get to go to the Rose Bowl. Michigan had better get an "attitude adjustment" if they plan on winning this match up.
I think both fan bases have fans with those arrogant attitudes. Unfortunately, some people decide that these types of people are the only ones that represent LSU, Michigan, etc. Most of the people that I have encountered on here are not ones that have arrogant attitudes -- they are just confident in their teams and I see nothing wrong with that. Additionally, I don't understand the argument how you can't brag about your team. Sure we may have more national championships....so? You have a great team, a great program, and one heck of a coach. Anyway, to the traveling "issue". Hawker45 is basically right on, especially last year. We had a very poor showing at the Alamo Bowl last year. I think the reason being is that it was a down year and nobody in our program except a few players were really excited for it. We had a pretty good outcome in the 2005 Rose Bowl against Texas. The only reason, I think, that we didn't have many the year before against USC is that USC is so close to the Rose Bowl that they occupied most of the seats. Trust me on this one though, when we make it to a National Championship, we will have tons of fans there. I don't think the players need an attitude adjustment; I just think the fans will. To conclude, we will have a pretty good showing, but you won't see our fan base as its best at the Rose. When we get to the NC, you will see it. Go Blue!
He has returned some kick-offs this year as well as play defense. He returned kicks in four games (Central Michigan, at Notre Dame, and Wisconsin) and had 89 yards on five returns. His long was 22. On defense, he played in every game but four. He recorded 13 tackles.
What?! Jack Del Rio appreciates good offense? You realize his OC in JVille is Carl Smith. Us Saints fans know all too well about CS vaunted offense.
Im sure you've heard about our tradition of tailgating. With ya'll having the largest crowd in college football, is there a big emphasis on tailgating? And how is the seating? I went to the Tennessee game this year, and the seating is rediculous. Seats are about 15 inches wide and the stadium is entirely bleachers except for one section. And welcome to the forum. You will be treated with respect as long as there is no Nutt or Dick on your team!:hihi:
That's not a fair comment. We (SEC teams) are fortunate that all our bowl tie-ins are within driving distance or a short flight away. And those of us who are making plans to head west are finding out how expensive it is to make this trip. If LSU were to make it to the Rose Bowl as often as Michigan, I doubt that we would have 40,000+ fans every trip. We're excited b/c it's our first trip to the Rose Bowl, and maybe our only chance in our lifetime to experience this. For Michigan, it's a disappointment to be in the Rose and not the NC game. I've always marveled at how well Nebraska fans travel, no matter the bowl. It's not cheap for the fans of northern/midwest teams to make annual bowl trips.
I think that there is an emphasis on tailgating, but I don't think it is really anything out of the ordinary - nothing too special. Michigan Stadium is the same as Tennessee. You barely have no where to sit. I went down to Penn State this year for the Michigan/PSU game and it was the same, actually worse. That's why it is nice when you have big games at Michigan Stadium. That is because everyone is standing up the whole game it doesn't matter. I bet you enjoyed the Tennessee game. I remember watching that game -- what a thriller!
