It seem like you are very educated for one who speaks & writes like a 14 years old with attitude problem.
Since when does getting drafted have anything to do with being a valuable member of a college team? Last time I checked, it has nothing to do with it. Could it be TE, that there is a correlation between losing 7/8 of our last games last season AND at the same time losing a valuable Senior from our team??? Or is it just complete coincidence????? Say what you want about how "good teams recover from losing one player," but we were a damn young team last year who depended on a rough, tough senior. The fact is, Brady has been a hell of a recruiter the past three years. First with Bass' class, then with Big Baby, then with Tas Mitchell. With that kind of recruiting, you HAVE to give Brady at least a chance. If he can't do it with these guys, then I will be all for exploring other options...
Last b-ball game I watched in the P-Mac was when Shaq played. Until someone breaks 4 goals in practice I probably won't make another game. Just so much more exciting when you had the Twin Towers.
I'm really looking forward to the seasons this year for both the men and women. Brady really needs to do something special this year or he will not be here next year IMO. Pokey should have a great year with the returning talent we have on the women's side.
i am nuts for lsu basketball. i couldnt be more excited. i would like to see at least a couple games on national tv, i hope that happens. the big baby/bass combination is gonna be beautiful. i expect to see thunderous dunks on sportscenter. this news about the running offense. i love it. TE, we know you hate john brady.
hey martin, the lsu kentucky game will be on cbs and the lsu bama game at the p mac is on sec super tuesday on espn, im sure you can pick up the lsu west virginia game and the lsu fsu game in the new orleans arena on fox sports net, there is also lsu vs the vols on sec tv, maybe you can pick that game up as well
The potential for b-ball this year is unlimited. Hopefully they can get some chemistry early and be a confident team when SEC play rolls around. I'm really excited about this year's team. The only player I have concerns about is Whipple. I'd like to see Tac mature and become the starting PG with Whipple playing 10 minutes a game as his backup. However, that would put two really small guards in the game together. D Mitchell seems to play a lot bigger so maybe it would work. Neltner & Lazarre will likely be much improved from last year. Kounjia will be all-SEC one day if he's here 4 years. I'll make up my mind on Brady after this year but will support him 110% until then.
He has showed absolutely nothing to me offensively at all. Before last season everybody was so high on him - and he proceeded to shoot .362 from the field and .205 from the 3 (http://www.lsusports.net/mb/04stats/teamcume.htm). It is great that he can run and jump and play defense so well, but in these days of 65-60 games we need every single player on the floor to contribute points. Koundjia did NOT get it done last year and I expect him to also not get it done this year. I will eat my shorts if he is ever all-SEC for anything other than defense.
From what he showed last year, I can't really argue with you. I'm looking for about 8 pts, 5 reb, 2 steals, 1 block/per game this year and somewhere near 50% from the field. I think this year's team will have enough scoring and he can be a good role player. With his size and athleticism, I honestly expect him to be an all-SEC talent in a couple of years if he stays in the system. He's just incredibly raw. There were a few flashes last year when you could tell what his potential is. By the time he's a SR, he's got the talent to make those #'s above double.
lets say koundjia gives the team nothing more than a big fast body that plays strong d and blocks a few shots, thats ok isnt it? i mean, if everything else worlks out, hudson, minor, bass, big baby, they should be able to handle the scoring load. lsu should have enough scorers that they won't need an offensive contribution from that guy. yunno who looks like the fastest kid in the universe? darrell mitchell. a couple times i have seen that dude sprint down the floor at ridiculous speeds. that guy is lightning. lsu has size, lsu has speed, lsu has strength. if anyone can shoot an outside shot, they could really have something. i cross my fingers and hope that husdon and mitchell can make some shots. i dont expect minor to be a big shooter, let that guy run inside and weave around the big boys for layups and dump-offs.
