Again...it's gameday and I can open this thread. Can't jinx it ever. Whether Lawson plays or not I think it is an advantage either way. He won't be 100% if he does. Now if we let Hansbrogh get his but can shut down everyone else we should do OK. My only worry is bench and the end of the game. If this is an up-tempo game we may get tired at the end.
The bracket showed that if we beat Butler and UNC beat Radford we'd meet in round 2 and you didn't see this coming?
I hate, hate, hate living in Big 12 country sometimes. A&M and OU are on the tube here. Looks like I'm computer bound for this one.
You said it yourself, I picked Butler! I tell you why I did it too, I thought LSU had peaked and was headed in the other direction. The Tigers were 1 and 3 in their last 4 games and didn't shoot very well from the field even though IMHO the refs gave them the Miss St game. I do realize that the dance is a new season but hey its not always easy to analyse these things.:insane:
It looks like UNC is saying Ty Lawson will play based on the news coming out of UNC this morning. Now I may be crazy, but if he does get in the game I would full court press him, double team him at halfcourt and play him really tight even if we pick up a few fouls doing this. Here's why: He has the equivalent of a turf toe. Forward motion is not that much of an issue with turf toe. It is the change of direction, sideways movement, turns, stopping and jumping. Play him tight, chase him with a press and you will force him to put stress on the toe. If fouled he may find his shooting rhythm thrown off. When cornered on a press he will have to twist and/or jump to pass. When double-teamed in half court, he may have trouble getting himself in position to dish it to the open man. He might fry his foot before eight minutes have gone by. Nothing dirty, just if you are going against an ambidextrous guard with an injured left hand, you want to make him go left the whole game.
Same here, as I am in Topeka, Kansas. I am headed for the Buffalo Wild Wings. That's where I watched the Butler game. They have to have a sports bar that will have it on a large screen near wherever you are.
garrett temple was a McDonald's All-American! who knew. "Also on the floor will be Wayne Ellington, the talented shooter for the Tar Heels averaging 15.5 points per game and forward Danny Green, who scores 13.3 points a game. They’ll share floor space with LSU power forward Tasmin Mitchell, who, coming out of Denham Springs High School, played in the same McDonald’s All-American game as Green and Temple, a defensive all-American last season" http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/41616847.html?index=14&c=y
Re: Men v UNC-4:45pm or 7:15pm Sat. CBS I really don't think that there is any scenario in which today's LSU team would be considered a better team than the 2006 LSU team.
Sportscenter this morning mentioned LSU was 7-2 all time in the second round. I guess I am trying to find anything that gives me a little hope.
