just got back, pmac was great tonight. i picked us to go .500 in the sec this year. so glad i was off.
Re: LSU vs Florida I hate to say I told you so, but I assume you watched the tape. Bo played NC the first half, giving way to GT alot of the second half. Keeping NC off balance is the key to beating FL and CTJ had a good game plan. Plus, by the end of the game, Bo was beating NC off the dribble and taking him to the hoop. As for Hodge and Walker, you'd rather have them beat you than let NC get on track, which is sort of what happened. Walker did get free for scores, but overall, didn't hurt Thornton enough to result in the W. Great win for the Tigers on National TV. More importantly, they clinch a part of the SECC. How many folks predicted that after last season? If CTJ doesn't win SEC COY and make lists for National COY, it'll be a travesty. :dis: I will say though, Florida is going to be back next year in a big way. This is a young team, but damn talented. Chandler Parsons was a kid that LSU was recruiting, if folks remember. He's added weight and looks to be a pretty skilled big. Werner is no Noah or Horford, but the kid can shoot. Tyus was hurting us, and I'm surprised Kenny Kadji didn't play more. Next year, Florida adds super guard Kenny Boynton plus some. We are lucky LSU has the experienced guys this year, and Florida is young. CTJ evens up the score... in the Billy D era, Florida's 8-8 vs LSU. That's pretty good for the Tigers considering some of the teams that Billy D has had. :geauxtige LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL.
I said it Sucks, To be, a Florida Gator. I said it Sucks, To be, Florida Gator. Man, what a game tonight guys. The PMAC was rockin, again. Trent walked off the court PUMPED. It was the first time this season i saw him even smile. He was screaming. He really wanted this game. This basketball team feels so much like last year's baseball team. I love it!!
Just made it back. The place was ROCKIN'. My arm is killing me because I had elbow surgery and got a little too pumped. I liked the Gator chomp and sucks to be a Florida Gator chant. Classic.
Re: LSU vs Florida wait, i thought i was the one concerned about bo guarding calathes? bo did ok, but gt clearly shut him down. its funny, they were gushing on calathes all night (and he is very good), but bo ended up with equally good stat line (with fewer minutes). the great things about the game were-- gt and spencer. im hoping that this was some senior confidence, focus and determination from gt that we will see more of. gameplan change in second half. less jumpshots. that was killing me in the first half. they were going down but thats crappy bball. loved the emphasis on penetration, passes to the post and gt's attacking the press. hated cj's disappearing act. seems he really should have been able to get some boards, but 28 min and 3 rebounds. that doesnt bode well for matchups against big frontcourts. uf has been a weak rebounding team all year and played LSU even. id say odds are LSU wont win out, but the outright SEC title is all but clinched!!!!! (i think lsu has had maybe two of those)
It was just as good watching the Florida bench from the student section after they started fouling.
I liked coach Johnson's quiet confidence and optimism. He said he wanted the kids to play hard, and what little I hear about it seems they are. I'm not a BB fan until the finals of the SEC tourney if LSU is in the finals, or till the NCAA tourney, but I like what I hear about this years LSU team. I like this coach. :geaux:
By the way I take this as a personal challenge: Guard Walter Hodge On the hostile crowd... “I don’t think the environment was that great. We are used to playing at Kentucky, and it’s louder.
I didnt watch the game, but I am damn pleased with the outcome. From what I am reading the game was a series of runs by both teams and LSU had the final run.
