I actually found it to be the opposite back in my smoking days and I was a daily smoker for an extended time. I always needed something to keep me busy back then and was always starting some project or another. I was a very productive stoner as were many of those around me. However we all had hard working jobs and were use to staying busy. Someone that is lethargic to start may indeed find that it intensifies with weed.
My only point is that legalization doesn't mean that anyone can smoke pot with impunity. I transport and handle radioactive materials. I travel with radioactive materials and I an criminally responsible for the safe handling and security of these materials. I am also responsible for those who work under me. Their safety and their safe handling of these materials are very closely watched and documented with the state nuclear regulatory board and the U. S. dot. There is no way in hell that they will allow someone to have pot in their system. The problem is if you can drink on a Saturday and go to work on Monday why can't you , if pot was legal or if you had a script for it, smoke on a Saturday and go to work on Monday?
Not as badly as alcohol, caffiene, and nicotine exacerbates them. Pot does not cause depression, amigo. Depressed people do smoke pot sometimes and drink too much, too. But there is no cause/effect relationship. Overindulgence in anything will bog you down. Some people can smoke a tiny bit and are too mellow for their own good. I have smoked enough to float the Hindenburg and have enjoyed a lifetime of happiness and achievement. It's difficult make broad generalizations.
I agree. Alot of good points. It's hard to generalize and I shouldn't have said it causes it but I wasn't comparing the effects of pot and depression/ lethargy, etc to alcohol, caffeine, or nicotine. I was initially just responding on the legalization issue but you made the statement about it not causing lethargy which seems more off base than the depression. I also agreed that many people function perfectly well everyday in many different professional settings. I agree that pot doesn't cause depression. Exacerbates depending on the person but not causes it. Just to be clear, I'm all for it. I have smoked for the better part of my life and enjoy the many benefits but sometimes I lay off for a little while as my tolerance seems to go up. I don't see the point of shwag anymore so I see it as a waste of good green at some point. Anyway, I understand your points. Let's just say we are on the same side ultimately
I drink a few beers on occasion. I don't judge. I only try to educate. People are going to do what they want to do and rationalize their behavior.
Good post sir. :thumb: I have pretty much been smoking every day for the last 2.5 years, it has helped me tremendously through this whole shoulder ordeal and has given me a lot of range of motion back with little to no pain, something I have not experienced a whole lot of the last few years... and maintained a 3.2 gpa through surgery and rehab. So sabanfan, when ya leaving?
If we can play golf on the moon, we should be able to come up with a way to tell when someone who has failed a drug test for pot actually consumed it. Weed can last up to 6 hours, but can stay in your system for up to 2 months. That's what is killing us.
I have a question. I get pain pills for my back due to a disease called A. S. When I take drug test I produce the proof of a valid script and all is good. If you had a script for pot would it be treated as any other norcotic med and be protected under the Americans with disabilities act. They can't fire me because I have a disease that a doctor prescribes me meds for. Would it be the same for medical doctor prescribed pot or will pot not be covered because the Feds won't class it as a drug with medical uses?
Until the federal government says they are going to quit going after state run clinics I can still see employers having grounds to terminate.
