Well it continues - the Commercial Appeal reports this morning that Petrino's brother is joining him at Arkansas as OC, not Malzahn. They also are reporting that that Cutcliffe to Duke should be announced today or Sunday. Fulmer is quoted as saying he hopes Cutt will stay until UT's bowl game. As for the Duke job, I seem to remember that Spurrier did well there and used it as a stepping stone, but Cutt is a little old for a move with that motivation.
Cut was making around 350K at UT. This Duke position is said to be at 1.5M. Can you blame him for making the move?
There was definitely a power struggle going on with that staff this year. Instead of Fulmer I think he's glad to get away from Trooper Taylor.
Reports are that Trooper Taylor may go back to Baylor as OC or something. That would be a pretty big change in the UT coaching staff.
Oh, and it will be real interesting to see what transpires in Fayetteville. Lots of UA fans really wanted Malzahn to come back. If he doesn't I wonder if Petrino will face some of the same problems that Nutt faced in his last two years at UA. As was pointed out in another post in this thread, by someone, Auburn has as new OC. I haven't heard anything about MSU and assume they are stable. I did read where the Vandy HC's name was mentioned in a couple of places, but I do not think anything will come of it. Does anyone have any info on any changes at Bama, Georgia or UF?
Damn, I didn't realize that Duke would be willing to spend that much money on football. So what the hell is up with our DC search? Are we not wooing Tenuta?
Yeah Bobby Petrino isn't going to take Gus Malzahn over his brother Paul. I think Malzahn will be leaving Tulsa in the near future but it won't be to Arkansas.
Well it is now official, Cutcliffe is going to Duke and making about 1.5M. Looks like he will stay through UT's bowl and he will take at least two of the UT Assistants with him (guys who followed him from Ole Miss). From the Nashville Tennessean ----
