McCain's age might make this very likely. What's he going to look forward to, career-wise, after his Presidency? Could it be possible that he's wanting to serve for love of country over everything else? I also like Obama, but I don't think I can vote for him because I feel he will be far more liberal than I could accept.
I watched CNN and Fox after the speeches every single night for both conventions just looking to see who would be more of a homer. CNN easily had the biggest homers I have ever seen. The reason Fox News it more popular is for the most part when the analysts say something negative about the other party's candidate, their words come out softer and seem nicer. CNN's analysts almost seem angry every time - sort of Nancy Grace-esque.
you two should get a room. mccain. ok, that's one. lieberman is a dem that obviously doesnt put party first. there are too few on BOTH sides like this.
I haven't heard what Obama has said lately, so I won't get into that now. I realize that saying we shouldn't have gone into Iraq is mostly fruitless now, but I think Obama rightly wanted to reduce our presence as quickly as safely possible. That does not mean that he does not support the troops or the work they are doing, only that it means perhaps our money could be better spent elsewhere. The world isn't short on nations that could use your money and my money; I prefer we get our ship right. I feel like regional powers should play a larger role in what happens in Iraq and in other places of tension around the globe. Riding cavalierly to the rescue is expensive and takes resources from Americans. I always thought conservatives were against large federal spending projects, but I hear Republicans time and again defending boatloads of taxpayer dollars spent overseas. I think I've read that McCain believes we should have stayed in Vietnam. His argument is that the war could have been executed better. I've got news for McCain; our armed forces and government are large and encompass a number of opinions and no military operation will ever go completely smooth, particularly if the goal is murky. The American people will always tire of a war that does not have a righteous and clear goal. Ya think ya might be a little biased in your review of the coverage? Just sayin'.
Phuck money. If troop strength had been reduced when Obama wanted it done (pre-surge) the troops left behind would have been slaughtered. Libs can't see that. All they see is precious welfare money being spent on a war. THAT"S their biggest problem with Iraq whether they want to admit it or not.
For once, I have nothing to comment. I was in the dark for the GOP convention. Don't have a clue what went on. Still haven't seen a newspaper. It's going to take me a while to catch up. They say my neighborhood will take 14 to 21 more days to get back power.
