I didn't accuse you of anything, I didn't even use your name.
I said 3 posters and I simply asked a question.
The question wasn't directed only at you.
I apologized in private now I am publicly.
I will again apologize and suggest we start all over.
I didn't respond because of your comment about inserting my foot in my mouth.
That didn't go over well after your crash and burn comment.
Fair enough but I really don't care that much about McCain and Bush.
I don't understand why you and Houtiger don't like Sarah Palin so much.
You think most people would stand up and give her credit for being a maverick and opposing her own party like McCain has in the past.
It seems like you guys are so happy to see her seventeen year old daughter dragged through the mud with your comments.

I don't ever remember trying to insult you btw.
If you think I have I'm sorry.
Everytime I go into a deep discussion I try and state my opinions and back them up.
In closing after reading those last 3 threads before I responded I wanted to take some time away from here, it was getting too heated up for me but I didn't.

    Much to his detriment.

Dude, I think we have more in common that I imagined.

I don't agree with you here.
In the first place Bush was elected to 2 four year terms by the people.
People talk about 8 years and such but once again he was voted into office for a reason.

Maybe it was the democrats didn't have a good candidate in 04.
I don't get the strong arm comment either.
I think she was a great pick over other great choices because she is from the outside of Washington DC and she is talking change unlike the others.

Let me just say that I hope you read at least the last 2 pages of this thread including my last 2 responses to put things into perspective.
I actually would prefer a new thread on this subject and have it become a sticky so that everyone knows where everyone stands when communicating in this forum.
The way it is now designed, every one is coming from every other direction.
Its like organized chaos and some of us have irreconcilable differences.

    Edit:
I'm sorry, Gumborue and others sidetracked my thoughts.
I liked Carter and Clinton even though I disagreed with their policies.
I would have a beer with either even though I must admit I never have gotten over Waco.
    Something went terribly wrong there!
This is America and everyone should have rights.

I don't claim to be bi-partison, what you see is what you get but I look for others that claim to be independent and have never
criticized the left in this forum.
Others I honestly don't know where they are coming from.
I asked the question simply because of LSUMASTERMIND, Houtiger and whoever else were posting all kinds of negative stuff about
Sarah Palin including comments like Crash and Burn.
They can't seem to find one positive comment about the individual such as she is a maverick and took on her own party.
    I find it simply devisive.

"nominated". your party had the good mccain ripe for the picking, but stupidly picked W. im not talking about the general.

it bewilders me that they didnt take the good mccain and took W. then mccain loses the only real quality that made him desirable and NOW the GOP takes him. if he gets in office, i hope he's been lying for the last year.

palin is "a breath of fresh air" or whatever irrelevant crap you want to say about her. she may be a good pick for the party, for mccain's chances of getting elected, but she is not a good pick. time may prove that she's a better politician and leader than thatcher, but we dont know that now. mccain took a desperate flier on her. lieberman, ridge or romney and about 100 others would have been a better VP.

    I can agree here.
    I think i disagree.
I wasn't voting for McCain until she came along.
I wouldn't have voted for McCain if Lieberman, Ridge or Romney was on the ticket.
    I would've voted Libertarian.

George Bush II and the Republican congress killed fiscal conservatism.
McCain could've went down that road also with most names you stated.
The Conservative base has become entergized w Palin.

all i can say is im shocked.

but how does it make you feel better about him when he didnt get his first or even second pick for VP. he's not happy, but you are? he knows her less than i know you, but she is going to make him a better prez than lieberman or ridge would have?

Conservatives would've been outraged with Leiberman, who has run as the Democratic VP candidate. Ridge would get bashed in the media for his connections with the Bush administration.

I think the Republicans were VERY smart to wheel out Palin. Instead of a ticket with two old white men, McCain shares his ticket with an attractive young woman (yes, 44 seems young to me these days), who is a relative unknown.

The media is trying hard to dig up dirt on her, but the fact is, not much is known, and the time is growing short to smear her too much.

Palin was a good pick, and she will gain McCain some votes, probably mine, for one.

she's a good pick because she'll help get him elected (maybe, we'll see if it helps), but its hard for me to believe the mccain administration will be better with her than with lieberman, ridge, or romney (maybe she will be better, but right now, there is little reason to believe it).

and the other part that ticks me off is that lieberman wasnt shunned for being on kerry's ticket, ridge wasnt shunned for connections with bush, they were both shunned because of abortion stance. i hate that my the leaders of my govt are trying to be decided by one issue.
