i said i wouldve voted for mccain '00. cant really pay more of a complement than that. i really liked lincoln (you know, that inexperienced anti-war presidential candidate). im anti-abortion and pro-privitized social security. its hard to respect a party that allowed bush to be nominated twice and strong-arm its current candidate into choosing a inexperienced token VP over several other GREAT choices.
Neither post leads me to believe that you're non-biased...and that's OK. I'm biased, and proud of it. Just admit that you could never back a Republican. The non-candidate in 2000 and one that was dead 100 years before you were born don't count. How many times have you voted republican? I've never voted for a dem...and I recently had a cousin run for governor with a D behind his name. My principals are thicker than blood.
i like to think im not biased, but that i make my decisions based on relevant things, not prejudice. i have no problem voting republican. im just not going to vote republican for a national office at this time. the only republican ive voted for prez was Bush I in '88 (my first vote). also voted for perot, so that should count, too. vote republican all the time at the state/local level. wait, dont tell me you voted for duke because roemer had been a dem. im no democrat, nor a friend of theirs. on a whole, lately, they are just less bad than the GOP. id prefer the whole f--ing thing to blow up (why i voted for perot 92 and nader 00). the two party system aint working and its getting worse (hate to say it, but in part because of people with youre voting attitude). you think im a yellow dog democrat just because there are so few liberal posts to disagree with here. the crack about mccain's age was a joke. his age wouldnt have affected my decision until he picked a noob.
Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden... and for that matter McCain! I've heard a number of Republicans defend Palin by saying experience isn't key, it's judgment and intangibles. That sounds like an endorsement of Obama. I like Obama and I like Palin. I'm less enthused by McCain and Biden. As tickets, I like that Obama is on top making the final calls while Biden can lend good advice. On the other hand, Palin delivers change and freshness for McCain and the Republicans, but she will not be calling the shots. I'm still a strong lean to Obama.
youre right. shouldnt have said it that way. obama has been run through the ringer for 2 yrs now. the country knows a lot more about him than they do her. time will tell how presidential she is. i really wish the nazis would have let mccain pick lieberman or ridge. i'd have more confidence in her (though still not as much as i do with lieberman or ridge) if mccain had wanted her.
