She showed grit in her delivery tonight. Not once did she comes across bitter, angry, or wounded. A good start for Palin. The next few weeks and the VP debate will tell the tale. Wasn't it Samuel Clemens that said, "The news of my death has been greatly exaggerated"? May be a bit premature to write her off just yet.
What major accomplishment have the repubs delivered in the last 8 years? doubled the national debt in 8 years, vs. the previous 230 years. housing bubble, mortgage crisis Iraq, expensive and unnecessary war, no WMD, no collaborative relationship with Al Qaeda, no imminent threat to the US. Bush mislead public in road to war, per Scott McClellan, long time friend and White House insider. Dollar sinks to historic low against Euro, oil up 200% in 8 years, inflation hits highest level since 1991 (Bush I's swan song). Fiscal irresponsibility, reckless foreign policy, passed prescription drug coverage at cost of $100 Billion per year with no tax to pay for it. Pathetic.
I won't stick up for Bush but I will say we won the war in Iraq. I will be glad when Bush and Cheney are gone. We can get some fiscal conservatives to clean up the mess. The bottomline.... The surge worked. Remember our conversation about the surge and what the generals said. You thought you were more smarter than the general, something I will never forget. All I know is that you and Red were wrong. You went with the dems and the losing side of the war. I respect you guys for not waivering for your postions on the Iraq war but IMHO it was wrong to side with those that called Bush Hitler and the war lost when we were still in battle. You guys said the surge wouldn't work but you also won't admit when you are wrong and thats too bad!:rolleye33:
