Maybe Amp should read this to consider his options..

Maybe Amp just doesn't want to do what the staff feels is necessary.

I doubt if that is true and of course we know that wouldn't happen if it were.

This year has nothing to do with it, he'll be a redshirt junior when he is eligibile to play for another team no matter what. He'll have to sit out this, his redshirt soph. season if he goes, which he has.

From early 20's to mid 20's in one sentence, man he's aging fast. :)

So play art LSU this year, get his 10-29 receptions and then transfer, sit out and play one year somewhere else, now that would be stupid.

if he is wanting to transfer now is the time to do it.....I don't really want him to, but I can't say I really blame him

I don't think LSU is in its right to do it, nor would they do it if they had the option. I would love nothing more than for Amp to be on the feild this year catching passes and adding to our already sick depth at the WR position; However i completly understand why he is doing this.

I am sick of hearing how he should stick it out here and compete at the school he signed with rather than transfer and up his chances of making it to the NFL. This is not the NFL. This is college football and he has a VERY limited window of oportunity to wow some people and posibly go pro. In the NFL, you can afford to stick it out in a bad situation and try to climb the depth chart, because if you fail there is a high probability that you can go into a better situation elsewhere because you are already one of the elite who has risen above the rest and made it onto an NFL roster. In college you do not have this leeway. If you wait too long to get into that better situation then you might lose that shot because you are just 1 player out of many who all have that same goal. Amp is at a crossroad. I agree that if he were to transer, then NOW is when he should do it. If he does it now then he has 2 years to do what he needs to do versus 1 if he waits a year. Yes, he could have stayed and played for 3 years here, but obviously he looked at what we had and all the setbacks he has had here and concluded that the best thing for HIM was to change schools. No, there is not a guarentee that he will be a starter at the school that he transfers to, but i am sure that he realizes that and is willing to take that risk. All he needs is to make it is one good year and one breakout year at the very least. In todays world of sports it is obvious that teams are willing to spend more and more money on potential than proven players, so having a long and prosperous college career is not as vital as some may think. those two years in a better situation may be all that he needs. Obviously he did not beleive that LSU was the right place for him to be to get to where he wanted to go and i respect that and will root for him at whichever school he decides to go to.

Remember people, College is a place to build the best possible future that you can for YOURSELF. If you have to leave the place that you origionaly started at to ensure that you are in the best possible position after college then by all means you should do it. Yes, that is a selfish way of looking at it, but he has to do whats best for HIM.

To hell with the concepts of a TEAM and commitment. They're overrated. Me, Me, Me, that's all that matters. Whatever. :dis: Who the hell are we talking about anyway?

Why worry about a guy who doesn't want to be here and doesn't want to work and fight for playing time? Not going to waste my time crying over spilled milk. He would've been sixth and maybe the seventh receiver on the depth chart and saw the hand writing on the wall.

Are you saying that the right thing for him to do was stay in a postion that he didn't think would give him the best chance for sucsess? Think of it this way. There is a big difference between a situation like TO wanting more money on top of the millions he already has than Amp wanting to transfer to ensure that he has the best chance to sucseed. I do beleive in the concept of sacrifising for the team, but sometimes you have to be a LITTLE selfish in order to get anywhere in life.

When i say little, i mean "little". How selfish is he really being here anyway? Think about it. He is leaving because we have so much depth at WR and his time here has been nothing but injuries. Maybe he does think that he could sucseed here, but that a change of scenery is the best thing for him to get his college football career on track. It's not like our entire season depends on his being here.

BTW, if it sounded like i was saying that the team concept is dumb and that players should just backstab and do whatever it takes to get to the top im sorry. That was not the message i was trying to portray. I was just saying that whether it be in college football or anywhere else, that sometimes to sucseed in life you have to do what best for you over what is best for the team because no matter what, at the end of the day you are the one who has to look in the mirror and ask yourself if it was worth it. Sometimes the price is too high........sometimes its not. Selfishness itself is not bad, selfishness that screws other people other than yourself is what is wrong and i don't think that Amps decision does that. Amp isn't screwing LSU over. We will be fine without him.
