If it's 4 cheap wins and a bowl victory over an overmatched team, then you're 5-3 when it counts most (in the SEC). That would be barely above mediocre. With proper perspective, you'll get past the facade.
when you're the first sec team to play during bowl month(s) yeah you are pretty mediocre. 78 teams make bowl games and 10 sec teams. so we are effectively 10th in importance in our conference at the moment.
I guess you could look at It that way, but Georgia plays tomorrow (last in line) and they suck worse than we do. Will they even have a coaching staff? Florida doesn't look all that promising today either. But yeah, mediocre in terms of execution is hard to argue which, is a best grade all things considered.
Does Georgia suck worse than we do? That's debatable. If both teams played sure you may pick LSU to win, I would too, but how comfortable would you be? Would you be shocked if LSU lost? I wouldn't.
didnt say less wins. i said less important. auburn even played after us with 6 losses. bowls are in incremental order of interest. not sure where execution comes into the discussion.
oh i see, if the body of work was better based on same amount of wins you get a different review. im all about nuanced. of course, thats what we've tried to say. simply saying 10 wins isnt perspective. its good for those looking up stats however thinking that means we were great.
(Emphasis added). So then, it is above mediocre? Don't mistake me; I didn't say we were satisfactory.
I have a lot of respect for you, islstl. I doubt a lot of people here would admit to that. I've got my issues with this team too, but the lenses around here are just warped.
