https://247sports.com/college/lsu/Article/LSUs-Maurice-Hampton-enters-NCAA-Transfer-Portal-football-baseball-162227504/ Sucks to lose a body at a position of need, but the way Orgeron is raving about Derrick Davis, he might have ended up the odd man out, anyway. Still, hate to lose him.
Sounds like a crowded baseball team was equally unappetizing. Sux to lose him but good luck until you play LSU in either capacity.
This feels like a baseball decision doesn't it? Feel for Mo, great family and he passed up a major pay day in baseball to come here. Hope the best for him.
Baseball seems to be his1st love. Kind of gives you a hint about how talented the freshmen baseball class is if he is conceeding.
But did he? Yes I know he turned down a contract but if he can't get onto the field at The Box what are his chances in the big show? The minors aren't any place to be. I know several major league guys and they all hated minor league ball
Per dandy don today, CPM is quoted as Hampton advising him that he was going to concentrate solely on baseball and that CPM advised him that he was in a crowded situation and to think about putting all of his eggs into one basket....
What's so bad about taking long bus rides from fleabag motel to fleabag motel with a bunch of foreign guys jabbering in a language you don't understand and blaring salsa music from jam boxes?
You'd at least have that initial pay day just in case you never make the bigs, but dunno Shane what is best for him but clearly playing both sports hurt him badly. I think Mo's family blasted Paul as being dishonest about that on twitter, but said O has always been straight with them. Not good. Not good..
No I get it, of course the pay day would have been nice but you'd have to think that playing was always the goal right? I think the kid made the right decision and really hope it works out for him and I hope it works out for him at LSU. I was just saying that it looks like the MLB guys may have had him rated a little higher than they should have.
