I think it would be very successful at LSU particularly with the regional draw of talent. However, Nike sponsored a camp in Palo Alto and the furd isn't exactly climbing the recruiting rankings.

USC is probably THE biggest benefactor of such camps. I'd like to know how many top recruits were swayed after camping there. I've read so many articles in which the camps had a lot to do with different chosing USC....not "The camps" per se but them getting to meet the coaches, etc. It's a great way to "Hook 'em" no pun. :hihi:

Kinda like car salesman insisting you take the car home overnight. After you park it in the driveway, imagine your friends seeing you in it, etc. it's hard to let it go- great sales tactic...same for college programs.

I think you mean Kellen Clemens with the Jets. Crowton also did very well with Dennis Dixon and Brady Leaf. I like the way he used Dixon, just Dixon had a tendency to be reckless at times, the thing I don't like is how little he used Jonathan Stewart who is similar to Adrian Peterson with more speed. He was injured but it seems like he didn't let him develop a rhythm. Hopefully he gives our RBs a chance to get going and wear down the defense during games.

utla has a camp too and their recruiting class so far this year is looking pretty good. But I really don't know how many actually commit after the camp. Some other things to consider are that if players know that other marquis guys will be at the camp, they like to go to show they can play with the best. AND, if a player is relatively unknown or not heavily recruited, then a solid camp performance can raise their stock tremendously. Just look at what happened to Armand Armstead since last week.

VBALL you are too knowledgeable about all this. I fear you are spending too much time studying this recruiting year and your VBALL is suffering.

More time practicing and less time on the internet.

I dont want you to lose your volley and serve.

I would rather USC beat us in volleyball rather than compete with us in football.

We have made offer to 3*Tyler Wilson from Ark.

He's listed @ 6'3, 182 lbs – Has offers from 9 other schools, Bama is the only other one in the SEC though.

    Also:
3* Ryan Katz, 6'2, 194 lbs from Santa Monica, Calif??

We haven't made an offer but we're 2nd on his list. He has offers from Air Force, Oregon, Oregon St. and Washington.

He's made an unofficial visit and has been invited to LSU's camp. Not such a long shot as would appear, his grandmother lives just outside of BR.

I would love to land DC Jefferson. Especially, to keep him out of Auburn's hands. I'm not saying he is the next JR, but he is big and fast enough to break a tackle or two and make a big play downfield.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of him. Just noticed him on the QB thread.

He's a "Dual-threat" QB, big guy too 6'6, 243 lbs. but strong lean to Rutgers. We have offered him though. :thumb:

Most have dropped their interest in him. His stock has been plummeting for months. I am not sure the exact reason, but I think once coaches got over his nice size, they saw some serious flaws. Many thought he was going to be a 5*, but now no one is really recruiting him.

Plus, he committed to Rutgers, according to them, this past weekend.
