It's time to play the r.s. freshmen and Mauck to go to dental school while he can go out on top. The r.s. will play next year
ok....well then I ask once again....when is the last freshman QB to win a NC? What Leinhard did this year was amazing. I don't think he saw much playing time last year behind Palmer.
if there is a prayer he can play pro ball, he should stay. imo, how could you spend your entire life wondering what if i had played another year for lsu, would i have gone pro even though i'm too short. if mauck is a true champ and has one ounce of pride and guts, he'll be back. i hope he stays.
Mauck has bucket of pride and a truck load of guts. If he does not return next year it'll be a decision made with his and his families best interest in mind. I hope he does return, but he's at the top of the mountain and I wouldn't be surprised if he starts looking for a new one to climb.
Freshman QB I believe Bernie Kosar is still the only freshman QB to win a MNC, and he was a redshirt freshman.
I can't believe you said this garbage Your posts are usually well thought out, maybe you were still sleeping when you typed this!
Even if you forget for a minute Matt's gutsy performance in the 2001 SECCG, after all of the pain and work involved in rehabilitation from his foot injury, there is simply no basis on which to question Matt Mauck's pride or intestinal fortitude. He paid the price and reaped the reward. He improved his skills and execution tremendously from last year, and his improvement is one of the reasons why he can proudly wear rings as an SEC and national champion. He has a 90% win percentage as a starting QB on a team, he set a record for single season touchdown passes, he was the SEC's pass efficiency leader despite competition by arguably more talented QB's like Eli Manning. By any reasonable standard, Matt Mauck is a WINNER and a TIGER through and through. Whether he stays or leaves, IMV he deserves the unqualified support of any LSU fan. I for one will wish him well no matter which direction he chooses.
