Never understood how his name could be pronounced "Farve", when it's spelled "Favre". It just doesn't make any sense. It's amazing to me that someone could not even pronounce their own name right. It would be like someone named "Bryan" pronouncing his name "Byron". I mean other words get pronounced incorrectly all the time, such as "axe" for "ask" (hear that one all the time). But here you have someone's name, and clearly the "R" is after the "V". It's just funny to me that some little country redneck couldn't pronounce his name right, which I would imagine is with a rolling "R" sound since it appears to be a French name. Don't mean to be a grammar snob. It's just always been a little odd to me. Not to take anything away from Mr. Favre. He's been a great QB with a great career, helping to bring a team that was a joke when I was a kid (GB) back to being a national power. Wait, this thread was about Mauck, wasn't it? I hope Mauck makes it yet, and I think he could with a little work. He does seem to have the QB intangibles that are important. At least he did in college. And I read some articles praising him in training camp this year, about how he was fighting for the second roster spot. I actually have compared him to Jake Delhomme many times, because he reminded me a lot of Jake. A decent passer, a good runner, and a great leader who was very smart with the ball.
