Very impressive. Still, he did it on a wind reading of 4.2 meters/second, which would make the attempt outside legal requirements.

Which means: This won't be a current No. 2 world time, or a new U20 world lead. Diving deeper, the effort also converts down to 10.16 seconds on a 0.0 wind and 10.07 on a 2.0 plus-wind.

Equally impressive....earlier he had jumped 25 feet, 2 inches to win the long jump. He also teamed with Job Trahan, Malik Campbell and Denzel Blackwell on Strake Jesuit's 400-meter relay team to capture first in a time of 40.72.

The 1,600-meter relay, which Boling also anchored, finished the day with a speedy exclamation point, winning in 3:13.7. "

The only thing that's curious is that he'd never run an open 100 prior to this year. Just looking at his 100 numbers this season, he's gone anywhere from a 10:58 to 10:20. 9:98 is quite a reduction.

White men can't run that fast.

Sometimes. I saw Al Coffee beat Ivory Crockett in the 100 yard dash.....just before Ivory set the WR at 8.9 seconds.
Al was never timed faster than 9.3 in a 100 but was one of the fastest on relays.

Al and I were friends back in the day. He and I boarded our horses at the same place one the corner of Lee and Burbank. He had a pony for his two boys, man did they love riding that thing. That brings back some good memories.

No kidding? I ended up living there for about a year or so. Kept the place up and got to keep my horses there for free.

White Lightning does it again. Watch the one with him coming from way way behind in the 4x400 relay.

That reminds me of Al Coffee again. He was much faster running from behind in relays than in a sprint event.
