I would much rather see timeouts used when the defense is getting driven on. In fact I would like to have seen a few drives this year stalled by timeouts that had been "mis-used." I like the 2 QB rotation, but the 1 play deal with Perriloux just isn't getting it done, in terms of proper time-out usage.
For some reason, people forget that Flynn can run the option pretty damn good (see Miami bowl game). But if he gets hurt, then that's a different story. I guess you would then see us run the ball almost every down, which might not turn out too badly. We've been known to be able to run the ball just a tad this season.
It could work the other way for Flynn in that he is under less pressure knowing that he will not get pulled in a scoring drive.
HOW BOUT THIS- TRINDON HOLLIDAY TAKE A COUPLE OF DIRECT SNAPS. WHO DOESNT WONT TO SEE THAT EXCEPT ALABAMA'S DEFENSE.:crystal:
I'd like to think that a 5th year senior isn't overly concerned about a back-up coming in to mix things up. I'd also like to think that the issue isn't the team stepping up, as much as I'm hoping that said 5th year senior can throw past the line of scrimmage and not panic David Carr-style. Hopefully what I'd like to think comes to fruition on Saturday.
I have a feeling we might see more than a few "gadget" plays in this game, just to keep Bama off balance. But, a productive running game will take some of the heat off Matt. "O" line needs to get "nasty" in this one. :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
Night before last, I re-watched the Va Tech game. WOW!!! I had forgotten how dominant the O-line was that night. If they perform like that, NO ONE can beat LSU.
