All I know is that I want our Qb's to develop and make smart choices on the field, to me that is the most important thing. I will give both of them a chance but if they have shown no improvement this year I wonder how much they will ever show. All I pray is that we don't have a case of the Chris Rix Syndrome at LSU. Sometimes talented QB's just never develop, scary but true. If this happens at LSU I hope Saban would pull the plug on the QB and get a new one and not handdle it like Florida State.
I don't think it's that the coaches don't have any confidence in Flynn, I think because of his shoulder injury earlier in the year that it put him well behind Russell and Randall. And it's hard enough to divide the snaps in practice between Russell and Randall to try to do it three ways wouldn't be beneficial to anyone on the offense. Flynn will be given his chance in Spring practice to unseat Russell.
Almost 30 days between Ark game and Bowl game means, as Saban has pointed out in the past, another Spring like practice session. Saban has said this gives Freshman and little used players time to get in a lot more reps. So maybe Flynn gets in the mix in December rather than waiting until the Spring. I remember when we were 8-5 two years ago with a struggling MR we went to the Cotton Bowl to play Texas, and in that game, MR was much better prepared to run the offense. In December, no school leaves lots of time for football.
I've got a feeling we'll be amazed at how going full contact against our #1 defense for a couple of weeks will teach a young QB to get rid of the ball.
Not only would it be relatively possible it would have been literally possible for Flynn to do worse. We could have lost more than 2 games. The grass is always greener...
I also believe how well the whole offence performs, esp. the offensive line, depends on the chemistry with and confidence in their QB. ________ Marijuana Vaporizers
