I am glad Matt looked good in the 4th quarter against North Texas but the game was over by then and to say based on that performance he should be considered for the starting job is wrong.

I am not against him getting a series in important games but JR is our starting QB.

I do think it is important to have 2 QB's with experience and that is why i would start Matt Flynn against Appl. St. Let him play with the first team and lets get JR healthy for Alabama.

In the meantime Matt gets experience.

I said the same thing, I think Matt should definetly start and let JR rest.

actually you can take something away from the game despite the opposition. the offense executed and had a nice rhythm with flynn in and looked a lot sharper all around than the first team. same thing can be said with the defense.

flynn removed a lot of doubt who the 2nd string qb is with that performance but he's just that. the backup but thats a good thing. still would have to see how he handles the pressure of a big game.

looked to me the starters had their first game where they finally could sorta go through the motions which is a good thing. they deserved it.

the backups, knowing full well they'd get a ton of playing time, were much more excited to play and it showed.

now with having to play 10 straight weeks, Appl. St is a good offweek for us without missing a week of improving execution at least for a half. just sucks for the SOS.

I don't know how you can even say that. We havent seen enough of Flynn to claim that JR's level of ability is better than Flynn in every asset of the game. I personally dont think JR would have hit those receivers in stride like Flynn did in that drive.

I'm sure the coaching staff especially Jimbo has seen him plenty and if they thought Flynn was better he would be the starter no doubt about it.

I'm just happy that if JR goes down we have a capable back up. Also if JR goes pro next year we still have Flynn and RP. The scary thing is that JR is only a Soph as is Flynn. I'm salivating at the thought of both of them as juniors or seniors.
