God bless Marquise Hill's family, his friends and his teammates during this this tragic time. You will all be in my prayers.
Yes, Lake Ponchartrain can be very strong. This incident happened by the Seabrook bridge. We fish there all the time and the current is so strong running through that channel into lake p. My boat died one day in idle waiting for one of the train draw bridges to be raised and we came very close to being sucked under the bridge. After hear about M. Hill, I will definetly be wearing a life jacket while boating in this area. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hill family. The LSU family lost a great one.
Rest in peace Marquise. Thank you for all of the memories. May God bless and be a comfort to your family. You will be missed.
Yes, as kveille said, especially in the Seabrook area. Also, the deepest water in the lake is right there at the Seabrook Bridge. It is where the lake enters the industrial canal. If the tide is moving and has a good range, it really funnels through swiftly right there. So sad to hear about Marquis. God bless his family and loved ones. God bless the LSU family as well...we need some good news about now. edit---also God bless the friends and teammates of Marquis with the Patriots.
Fellers, this could happen to any of us. We have to wear that life jacket when we go fast in a boat. Fall off a jet-ski, or out of any boat, or hit a stump while going fast and that water is hard. It can stun, knock out or knock the breath out of a strong man like Hill and make it difficult for even a good swimmer to fight a current.
That's easy, it could have been a friend or relative of either his or his fiance's. Many times while at the camp (with my wife) I've given her sisters, cousins, whoever rides on the jet ski. No big deal.
