I didn't care for the gameday crew saying tOSU didn't have a chance in the Dome (they were all tongue in cheek). They ALL think LSU will lose and they WANT them to. ESPN BLOWS!:geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux:

That Ed Cunningham dude said that it was a huge coaching mismatch Tressel over Miles...Yeah right, and Tressel is head above shoulders than Spurrier, Meyer, Saban, Fulmer, Tubberville, Weiss, Brooks, Nutt and Beamer.

Yeah I noticed that too. Might as well get used to it from everyone, especially SEC fans. If we win the NCG, Miles will not be given a shred of credit. It will only be because of his players, and in spite of him. I wonder how many titles he has to win before they all change their tune?

What worries me is last year those numbers probably would have been 74% tOSU and 26% Florida and the year before was "Oh the greatest team ever" and Texas was errily quiet and off of the radar.

Our players have to be hearing the same; more importantly, tOSU's players are too. I don't like it- this game will be very close, imo.

Miles is really, really, really good in getting the players to forget about that sort of thing.
Case and point: Everybody knew LSU was going to blow out Notre Dame and.... they did.

Hope you're wrong about that Tiga, I was reading some stats the other day comparing UF team of last season, compared to LSU of this season. It seems overall the Tigers are actually a better team on both sides of the ball than the Gators were then. If this hold s to be true, we should be able to clean their clock. On paper anyway.

I saw the show, too and have differing opinions on Mark May. He doesn't know squat--does his homework??? He just parrots what ESPN tells him--if you notice there is always some balance between him and Holtz--as there is on every show (ref. Corso and Herbstreit). By the way, May picked against OSU in about every game they played--guess he did his homework there, too. Because he picks LSU to win easily, y'all are eating out of the palm of his hand. While I agree LSU will probably win, it's not because May has the wisdom of Solomon..
Another point, and I know this will upset most here, Cunningham saying that Tressel is a better coach than Miles....that's probably true. Here's why Tressel won 4 1-AA NCs and 1 Div NC with 3 NC game apprearances (5 BCS bowl appearances). He did this with slow, unathletic northern kids...according to most SEC fans, anyway. What has Miles accomplished in his career, really? OK State---best season was 8-4 or 9-3. I know OK State plays second fiddle to OU in that state and region, but those are Houston Nutt/Tommie Bowden numbers. He is surrounded by so much better talent at LSU and still manages to lose a couple of games every year that he shouldn't. I'm not talking about Auburn of UF here (ref UT meltdown in 2005 as an example). I know the players love him, but at some point the Head Coach has to make educated decisions and manage the game, not let it manage him. Miles does that continually, then has been fortunate to pull some rabbits out of his hat (rather his players with superior talent have pulled the rabbit out of the hat) with "gutsy" calls. Manage the game properly and he wouldn't have to make those calls. Tressel almost always wins the games that he should (UF last year the exception).
Sorry if this hurts anyone's feelings, but thought you might want some food for thought....
