I've often wonder what it says for people that keep watching those guys and then stating how much they hate it. It's like old Finebaum in Bama. Eveyone hates him, but they cann't wait to read him or tune in and listen to what he is saying. Screw all of the announcers or analysis they have to say some to fill in the times, games only last a couple of hours or so. This game is going to be determined by turn overs. The young backs will have to hold on to the ball. No int's for Mauck. No turn overs by LSU and we win.
The "hate" thing is definately a way to draw ratings. Back in the early '70s New Orleans radio station WGSO had a guy named Stan Major who came on at night. His act was to insult New Orleans and South Louisiana. He would get people insanely riled up at him. They would call him on the air and he would deftly tear them all to pieces. People all over town were talking about how much they hated Stan Major. WGSO summed it up when they posted billboards all over town that said: "I HATE STAN MAJOR!!! - 5 nights a week on WGSO" His ratings were extremely high, and that is the same reason the TV network analysts put on the act that they do. Do people watch Corso because "he really knows his stuff" and is going to give us lots of good information on the upcoming game that we don't know? Of course not. People watch him because he says things to stir the fans up. I'll sum it up in two words: Howard Cosell.
ESPN sux they have to show sportscenter 12 times a day b/c thats all they got. Stu Scott looks like he is on the sauce, Berman has the worst comb over in god knows how long, The one funny guy they had left and got his own latenight show I can't remember his name Kilborn I think, Tom Jackson has the bigest lips in the world and he cant even say Tim Beoncabatuca, Peter Gammons looks like Dana Carvey w/out his top lip, Then they have that one fag from GameDay who hates LSU I wouldnt mind seeing him step out in front of the RTA, The other guy is kool but he looks like YOGA from SpaceBalls (mel brooks) Jim Roam got bitch slaped by Jim Everet. Enough said what lame commentary.
Oh no. Saying UGA would be whiped off the ground against Arkansas in last years SECCG, couldn't compete with FSU in the Sugar Bowl, would get dominated by Whitesworth (Clemson) this year, would be beat by USC's running attack, and oh yes...probably going to win 6 or less games...that makes him an idiot. Yes...He has a vendetta against Georgia for some reason.
Will May & Alberts admit how wrong they were? Hey Mark, what happened to the Auburn running game? You and Trev can stick it in your ear!
