my one problem with Les's show is that he whines about not killing animals etc. If i am trapped in the wilderness trying to survive, i am killing whatever comes in my path that is useful too eat. Or at least trying to kill it. He has changed this stance recently but in the first few episodes he was completely against killing.
on one episode (Georgia swamps if I remember right), he caught a turtle in a trap thing he made. He was actually trying to catch a fish. Dude says "wel we don't really want to eat this thing, but we'll make do if it's all we get." I remember thinking to myself "WTF?? Eat that sumbitch!! Turtle is freaking awesome!! Especially if it has eggs"
people with spam and ritz crackers can be so choosy. your opinion changes quickly after a day or two.:lol:
It's obvious Bear's senarios are staged. But jeez, the man drinks his own urine Now that's entertainment!!
It seems there is a Discovery Channel conspiracy; Perhaps the Louisiana/ ESPN conspiracy taking light here? This link says it is on Saturday @ 10:00pm http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=1.14709.25268.32074.10 This lil linky says different for Saturday @ 10:00pm http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/daily.html?date=20080816.229 From the same web site! WTF...
The last time I watched Les' show, he was in the Australian outback. At the end of the show he saw a large wild sheep and talked about how he could easily get a rock, sneak up on it, bash its head in, and eat it. I was kinda disappointed when he didn't do it. I guess he knew he was getting picked up in a couple days and could make do with tree grubs and crawfish, or whatever the Aussies call them. I like Les' show because there's no one else with him. Even if some things are staged (which they would almost have to be to make for good tv), it makes it seem a bit more realistic when you know there's not a cameraman with him. I know a guy up in Leesville who's fond of saying that if you get lost in Louisiana and starve to death, then you probably don't deserve to live anyway.
