I made the trip from austin for the UGA vs LSU game. It was my first ever but it wont be my last. I go to a big 12 game just about every weekend like you........prepare to be impressed. Be sure to get drunk, you will fit in better .
Your tickets are in the West Upper deck. IMO that is not the greatest place to try and watch the game. You can't really hear the band that well. If I were you, I would try to find some tickets in the lower bowl and walk down and around to the student section. Then sell the WU tickets, even if you have to take a monetary loss it would definitely be worth it. The atmosphere in the student section is 10X better than anywhere else in the stadium, if you can handle it.
how would you recommend doing that mike? are their students scalping their tix or somewhere i can go to do some swapping? would it be difficult to unload the tix we have? i'm not really worried too much about the money, just the experience. our seats look to be around the 40 and near the front of the section so i figured that would be as good a place as any.
Tickets will not be a problem getting rid of. They are in high demand. MikeD is right, it is a lot louder in the lower stadium and well worth the effort to trade.Get to the stadium a few hours earlier to trade.
Well, tickets will not be hard to get rid of, but getting tickets is another story. I'd keep an eye out for people selling tickets, but you'll probably have to stick with what you have.
if you can get ahold of new tix, they are right about going to a lower section. If you can get ahold of student tickets, which isnt all too hard by the way, you will have to go to the ticket office after and get them upgraded for 29 dollars. the ticket office is inside the tall athletic complex by tiger stadium across from mike the tigers cage. I would reccommend selling the ones u have now and going for the student tix. check e-bay...... or Just look for people our age who have student tickets and they are usually pretty cheap, although worth any price. after you get them upgraded you will be free to go to the student section. just get there early to be sure and get a better chance at tix. and dont be shy when selling the originals... i recommend 11ish. have fun, dont worry about getting food and such because it is easy with the right attitude. be sure to post after the game and tell us all what you thought about it.
cool, well, i will definitely try and see what i can do. i don't guess using a texas and two michigan id's would work for getting in using student tix would it? will try and find a few students who are looking to get to the seats in wu24. if not, i'm sure it will be fine. we'll have the entire eastern side screaming at us and we will be in a great place to see the game from what i can tell off the lsu site. will bring a handle or two of jack to donate wherever we end up hitting up for tailgating. been a LONG time since i've had some good cajun food. i will definitely be following up with the experience as long as i don't die getting trampled in the celebration...will be trolling the boards the week to see some auburn-lsu smack and throw down some big 12 representative smack! thanks again for the advice folks and for this weekend, hook'em and geaux tigers! edit: one last thing, i promise this it but friday night, we're staying in lake charles. i hear pat's is the place to go for dinner. thoughts?
Pats has great seafood. In response to your last post.... By upgrading the student tix like i was saying, you wont have to have any type of ID. they put an orange sticker on your ticket after the 29 dollar fee. and you are free to enter. and trust me you wont be able to trade student tix for West upper tix...rather, your best bet would be to buy student tix first, and then sell your originals to someone out of the incredibly large number of people who will be looking for tickets at any price. Then use that money to go upgrade the student tix, and you'll have some cash left to by some coke at the consessions to mix with your smuggled in crown. I suggest a small flask tucked away safely. shouldnt have any problems in that department. and be sure to leave lake charles by 830 or so to leave ample time to get to campus...its a good 2 hour drive to LSU from there...if you speed.
