1. It sounds like you two have some serious drinking issues......personally I only drink when I'm alone or with someone :)
  2. During my freshman year at LSU, Ben Wynne (sp?) died after binge drinking at a fraternity party. I remember thinking that I had only had enough to "binge" drink a handful of times in my life but never even close to the extent of that unfortunate situation.

Then, I noticed the definition of binge drinking as "5 of more beers/drinks" in a day and realized that I would "binge" drink about once/week. It didn't change my habits at all although now I only fit the definition about once/month. Also, usually I'm just barely over the 5 drink limit compared to the college days when tripling or quadrupling that number was common.
  3. I rarely drink more than 3 or 4 beer in a sitting. That's the point where I can go straight to bed, wake up in the morning and not feel a thing. After that, I either have to stay up while I drink a bunch of water, or deal with a slight headache the next morning.

  6. Makers is definitely one of my favorites. In my opinion it is the best to make old fashions with, which is my personal favorite drink.

Scotch over a few cubes is pretty fantastic as well. I'm not totally hung up on single malts either, a good blended scotch is pretty solid.

  7. Is it the old fashioned or manhattan that has bitters in it? Damn its been a long time if I can't remember that.
  8. old fashioned. i use blood orange bitters, and I also add a little bit of sweet vermouth. learned about the sweet vermouth from a bartender while i was on a business trip to birmingham.
