Now there is a non-sequitor. Let me see. I think it would depend on the context. Obama was trying to make a joke in an unrehearsed TV interview but made a poor one with an unintentional connotation . . . and he apologized at once. I would cut Limbaugh some slack under those circumstances, I believe. But I rarely see Limbaugh in such an informal TV interview. If he said it on his own radio show from a prepared script and then made light of it, that would be different. He takes a lot of cheap shots on that show and seldom apologizes for anything.
