Let's not get over excited. Some haven't even committed yet. Besides, at national signing day, they are all projected to be heisman winners, right? It's not true. At all levels, some of the highly touted become stars and some of them become busts. Some untouted remain in the shadow, some become mega stars, far surpassing the highly touted at the next level. I hope some of these guys produce and become stars for  . If it plays out true to form, we'll be lucky to get one star. We will probably get 3 everyday productive SEC backs. Every other SEC team is licking their chops today over the prospect of getting in their over-hyped signees. Now, don't get me wrong, I'd rather have a touted class than an average one. More of the touted athletes become stars than of the non-touted. In the last 5 years, who's had the most top 5 rated recruiting classes? LSU, Texas, USC. Look at our receivers. For all the touting, CFN had us with the #1 rated receiving corp in college football going into the season, and they did not play up to their billing. Sometimes you just can't tell. I refuse to be excited by name on a list. I am excited by game stats. Broussard proved his bonifides his Soph season, I sure hope he comes back as well as McGehee did up in Buffalo. I agree. College is a lot different than high school. You just don't know who will end up making the grade at the next level. But so far you have to be excited at the recruits LSU is pulling in.
The more & more I read about Keiland Williams, the more I get excited about him being a Tiger. If Broussard isn't up to 100%, Keiland could be our premier back next season. I was thinking that Vincent would start out 2nd on the depth chart, with a chance for a RJ Jackson & Keiland Williams to pass him. But now that I hear he's got a torn ACL, I'm more inclined to think he'll either redshirt or be slow at the beginning of the season & definitely get passed.
After watching the high school tapes of all these guys, Richard Murphy really stands out to me. He will not run over a guy, but he is patient for a block and is very quick and has great break away speed. This would bring a nice new look to LSU after pounding away with physical rb's like Brussaurd and Keiland Williams. I think he would be good to slip in on some screens or get him in open because he is defenitely not an every down back.
somebody mentioned earlier in the thread that we could use him more as a wr and i think that would be a good fit for him. He reminds me of a skyler green type of wr/pr.
Makes a lot of sense. One never knows until they are on the field. One other example is Jacob Hester, though not as highly touted seems to be a very good back. Let's hope Murphy and Scott don't have second thoughts with Keiland coming in.......:dis: ________ Digital Vaporizer
I agree. After watching their video reels, Richard Murphy stands out the most. He has good explosiveness, hits the holes very well, and gets down field really quick. Looks like he played a little bit at wideout as well, so that could possibly be a move for him at LSU. As for KW, it was impressive watching him throw forearms into guys while running over them. He is a bruiser! Also, Troy Giddens can lay the wood! Jared Mitchell is a little Skyler Greenish!
