:geaux::crystal::helmet: I'm hoping the interior lineman mentioned would be McFarland at DT. As for center, I'll go with your prediction of J. Downs since I see no other true center candidates. I earlier thought Joey Fontana would be a candidate but it appears that LSU is not too interested in him. On the DE's, I don't have a clue where the two will come from. LSU already has Brockers, so two more make three. Do we take three DE's in this class with possible limited numbers (less than 25)? I'm not sure we take anymore OG's or OT's with those comitted so far. Some interesting points to ponder for sure. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
In the context of the quote, he seems to mean DT. But who knows. It would be nice if his quote was a prediction of what the staff is confident will happen, because it just happens to match up with Randle, Myles, Loston, Mingo, McFarland, and Sentimore. The fullback is an interesting one.
It is a projection of what the coaching staff wants to end up with... but not necessarily what we will end up with as there is some wiggle room.
Benton will likely be qualified & enrolled by the time this class enrolls. I'd like to have DeBose, but I don't view him as a need.
Currently 15 commits: Carneal Ainsworth OL Michael Brockers DE Drayton Calhoun ATH Chris Davenport DT Josh Downs DT Chris Faulk OL Willie Ferrell LB Michael Ford RB Chris Garrett QB Janzen Jackson DB Stavion Lowe OL Kevin Minter LB Dexter Pratt ATH Russell Shepard QB Josh Williford OL I think this class is solid as far as their commitments, but if something with these commits were to change my guess would be at LB... Definite additions: Rueben Randle Kenny Bell Craig Loston Barkevious Mingo That leaves us with approximately 4 (could be as few as 1, according to the Advocate article) spots left, and lots of possibilities.
Bennie Logan is one to watch out for at DE. He impressed at camp & is a weakside DE like we're looking for. He's currently un-rated by Rivals.
I forgot that it was just in Benton will qualify. Great news. Im very high on him. Everyone was so excited about Toliver and rightly so. I was just as excited about Benton. He has all the tools to be really special. I agree, with his addition a third WR isnt at all a need. Id still like DeBose as well though.
Well, not exactly... He will try to get qualified & enroll in January (as opposed to going the JUCO route).
I heard a few times that his grades are very bad but have not seen any confirmation on the scores. What have you heard?
