I'm not sure if Benton has to sign papers on NSD or not, but he'll be a Tiger once he gets qualified.

Brown, Liuget, Shaw & Thomas would be who I project us to finish with right now, and an outside shot with Barron. We're far from a lock with any of these guys though.

Sounds better than mine... According to the MA (paper) we were going to be very selective & only take "difference makers" for the final few commits. Then we accepted L Edwards who according to the pro's is a three star with a load of potencial. Not my idea of a difference maker but at least Alabama didn't get him. Benton & Brown - not qualified by now - Isn't it getting kinda late for qualifing? I also read that LM was in Ocean Springs this past week so he is apparently still after a wide receiver..

I think the only WR we will take is Deandre Brown out of Ocean Springs. I also read that Miles will be at his house this Thursday discussing options about his qualifying status.

Recruits can qualify whenever. If after NSD they will not be taken into account for recruiting rankings. Like Keiland Williams 2 years ago. The Clearinghouse took awhile to get it all sorted out but his 5 star status was not taken into account. All that really matters is that they qualify eventually to make it to LSU no matter which route they have to take to so so. Rankings are just rankings and dont mean anything.

BTW, I asked if it was possible for a recruit to continue to get their grades up in HS to qualify in another thread. I heard that this is only possible if he is expected to be an early HS graduate or he attends summer school at their respective HS. So maybe this is an option for Brown to take classes during the summer to up his GPA.

I thought D. Brown's GPA wasn't the issue....just his ACT score, which he's retaking in October. Is this correct?

It's a sliding scale, so it's both... but he needs to bring up his ACT quite a bit.

I think he also needs to work on his GPA.

Looks like we are going to sign 28 recruits and give out 3 grey shirts.

I was just told that every LSU coach was at the Ocean Springs, MS Field House today.
