This quote from Coach O after last night's offensive debacle vs Texas A&M sums it up: “I think we’ve got to call better plays, we’ve got to have a better plan,” Orgeron said. “I was disappointed in our plan. . .it starts with protection. We had some (A&M) guys free hitting the quarterback, we were getting beat off the edge. Obviously, we want to get a lot of guys out (in pass routes), but maybe we should have kept more guys in (for pass protection). “They (A&M) had a good plan for our protections and we didn’t adjust to it. I thought we were going to catch fire on offense, but we never did.” So, what's the solution? Aside from finding some decent offensive lineman who can block, coaching changes must be made. Convince Ensminger it's time to retire and ride off into the sunset with a national championship, and jettison Linehan as soon as possible. Find a young offensive whiz kid who would love to come to LSU and work with world-class talent. Do it, O.
Offense pretty bad in 2016, 2018, 2020. Record-breakingly awesome in 2019. Certain questions have been answered. Will this information lead to smart decisions? We'll see.....
Dunno, but maybe, just maybe, O will be the one packing coaches out rather than waiting for them to leave? That would be a wonderful start. The mighty caca is going to come in any minute now and defend E till his death but here comes a legitimate question; is it possible we can hire someone who is actually better than E?
IMO, we tried the same running play twice in a row to open the half. After that huge 3 yard gain the first time it sure seems like a solid call to repeat immediately. Odd that it got stuffed for a two yard loss.
Yep, tempo only works if other team is gassed, undisciplined, and/or lazy. Problem is those are usually traits describing our team.
