Neither of MSU's quaterbacks (one a junior and one a freshman) played well against Auburn. I'd venture to say that neither one of them is better than our QBs, which means that our defense should be up to the task of stopping them.
If one looks at our game against Vandy and comes away with we are going to have trouble against a barely above avg Miss St team, then they really aren't paying much attention to the play as a whole by the Tigers. With the exception of 1 postiion there was significant enough improvement in the entire play of the Tigers to look at this game as going to be not even close. We have been far more tested than many teams out there, having played a top 25 team, depleated I know, and an SEC foe, both on the road. The Tigers have overcome and been able to trip their way past their own faults. Should we get even a little bit better QB play this team is beyond talented enough to be very dangerous. Miss St is going to be no more or less than the test we just had against Vandy, and this one is at home. Look for the Tigers to dominate early and often in this one.
I like your position on this! Having said that, would you consider saturday night a do or die game for JJ and LSU in 2010. Either we come out dominate, move the ball passing and throwing, continue a defensive dominace..... make no mistakes blow state out by 20 or more and show the counrty we deserve a spot in top 10....... or we continue to struggle, hand over the blue prints to our season, ride out another 9-3 season full of close games and would of, should of, could of's
I was disappointed with the 1st half offense, as was most of you I'm sure, but I did see improvements. LSU ran 71 plays - Huge improvement even with the first 3 series being 3 and outs. Better ball control/longer drives. The defense couldn't have played better. Keep it up, need to tighten up the offense, eliminate the stupid penalties and run the ball better in the first half. Anyone notice the freshman Eric Reid lay that hit at the end of the 4th quarter. I know this kid, grew up in my neighborhood. Comes from a great family and is going to be a great player. I think we beat MSU convincingly, not a blowout.
MSU (just like so many others) have been waiting years to beat us. Everyone still comes against us with their best game of the year. So far, MSU looks to be better than before. We need to be ready.
