Auburn is a real quality team. MSU was a catch at the 15 yard line in that last minute of play from possibly pulling off the upset. Perspective.
Look for MSU to stack the box all night long and challenge Les Miles to pass the ball. And look for Les Miles to be stubborn and continue running the ball even though the defense dictates throwing the ball. Thus, most likely a stagnant and frustrating to watch offense. Ridley isn't going for a buck 60 in this game. I hope Les Miles isn't delusional enough to think we'll have a repeat performance. LSU is teetering on getting back to that same shell we've been in ever since JJ has been our QB. It's the "don't screw this up kid, we're going to be conservative even though we have the most dynamic weapons at WR in the SEC". JJ will never succeed with this approach. Instill some damn confidence in the kid and he will flourish. Hold him back and he will play just like he has been playing, TIMID. A quarterback without confidence is never a good thing.
That's beautiful work, Izzy. JJ was 8/20 with 2 fumbles and an int because Les Miles made him timid. Very nice.
Izzie, if you blame last nights offensive woes in the first half on Miles, you're hopeless. JJ couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if he was inside it last night. That's just the way it is. It didn't matter WHICH play they called...he executed poorly last night. I think you're gonna learn something in a couple of weeks...and it can't happen soon enough.
worst game of his career for a guy who is generally pretty accurate. Not great but I have never seen JJ have such a horrible passing game and I don't expect him to play so horribly next week. The rest of the team had a huge step up and showed a lot of improvement, aside from the fumbles, and I expect us to put together a complete game this week.
That's what I don't understand. The constant need to blame Miles for everything. JJ was throwing high, low, to the left, and to the right of his receivers. Neither Auburn nor MSU are that great this year. Sorry.
We were also succeptible to the run last year and MSU had an NFL caliber back toting the rock. This year it's the opposite. If we've given up 100 yards rushing on the year it's not by much. MSU does have a good D-line so running might be a challenge for us. Otherwise, MSU is taking an arse whipping.
