MSU dropped just as many passes as our WR's did. MSU's QB play is on the same level as ours. MSU doesn't have an Oline and neither do we. MSU doesn't have the kicking game that we possess. MSU doesn't have the special teams that we possess. State nearly beat us last year because of the play of the 49ers' 3rd string tailback. They don't have that this year. #60 for State's Dline is good, but that's not gonna be enough. Our special teams blows them out of the water. Sorry, but I just don't see MSU on the road in Tiger Stadium as a loss. A threat? Sure, every SEC team is. But chalking it up as a loss at this point is just plain irressponsible.
Well, I quoted you to talk about the "putting AU and MSU together to make a complete team" thingy. I know you didn't say LSU would lose. I edited to add that neither are pushovers though. But considering many (most) "experts" picked both AU and Arky ahead of LSU this season, I just don't agree after what I've seen. I've seen AU against MSU, and I've seen both LSU games from start to finish. I fully believe that depleted UNC squad we had blown out before we took our foot off the peddle is a better unit than MSU's first stringers. MSU just doesn't have an offense. They don't have the offense they had last year. LSU should win this game convincingly. AU has no defense, so we should be able to run and pass against them...just like last year. Except this year, our defense is likely better than the group as a whole that held them to 10 points last year. But to be fair, AU will also be better on offense this year. So it's a wash...and we beat 'em by 21 again. :hihi:
One more thing. Arky. LSU's defense will give them fits with our DL. Mallett doesn't like to be pressured, and with fresh fast DL living in his backfield, he ain't gonna be a happy camper. That can be said for Brantley, too. And neither UF nor Arky is a power running team, which is likely the one thing this fast...but light...DL is likely to have trouble with. Read Bama.
Miss State is terrible. They always have been, and always will be. Even when they win they are terrible. Just terrible. No we won't. Miss St is only a tad bit better than Vandy. We shore up the passing game, even a little, with the rest of the improvements that were in last nites game, and we biotch slap Miss St.
State will give us all we can handle, but we will yank out a win and the negatigers will find all the bad and the positigers will find all the good. But I agree, weeks 1 & 2 are not SEC Championship or Bama Victory worthy.
Thats why everyone should be a ratiatiger, find the positives and the negatives, be rational and not so extreme. I will say this the negatigers tend to be more irrational than the positigers. In that no matter what happens they always come to the same conclusion, Miles must be fired.
+1 Oh Ya. But thinking rationally....JL deserves a shot...with the commitment he has shown this team and program. The work he has put in.
