Re: LSU vs Va. Tech 2002 the wife and i drove from kingsport tn, to the game (3hrs) and still couldnt get "in" after the horn sounded to end the first quarter, for less than $100 each! (we watched the entire first quarter thru a "hole in the fence"). so we walked from the stadium, to the sheraton hotel and watched the game on tv, with a very mixed, hard drinking, friendly; lsu/vatech crowd. everyone was so nice and IN AWE, of the thousands of tigahs, that came to blacksburg! we heard this repeated over and over again and estimates of 11-12K tigahs. the bartender at the sheraton, who had been there for many years, said that; "this is the BIGGEST thing thats EVER happened in blacksburg in my life!". and well i guess it was untill the recent ill-fated events caused by a deranged gunman. we repeatedly received compliments and congratulations from the hokies, that were awed by the shear numbers of tigah fans. post game, it was a very long walk back to the car (we missed our bus) and this is where we were heckled a bit. the hokies were celebrating and they had every right. we received some hoots, catcalls, honking horns and some friendly single digit waves. (tigahs NEVER do this; right?). we were exhausted and ever so happy, to get back to our car and get the hell outa blacksburg!
