I was there. Mike Vick was inducted into the VATEC hall of fame b/4 kickoff. How many years did he play there? TECS fans were very pumped up for they have never witnessed a following so large. I remembered a bunch of them couldn’t believe how many of us showed up. The night b/4 the game in front of Boudros a small riot broke out in the streets, as some playful bead throwing turned ugly when their mascot pulled up in the back of a pickup truck and we unloaded all of our beads at him. A few people were arrested and the incident made the local news. They ran all over us the next day and were very ugly to us after the game. I remember it being a loooong walk to the car. I hope our fans remind them of what happened.
i was at that game as well, i couldnt believe the minor nothing that happened in the street than night made the papers. i dont think they were used to the sheer volume of fans LSU brought to the game.
OK I understand you are new so I will try to be as sweet as I can...Number one I will say I met a VA Tech fan in NY last week and he was at that game. He said his friends and others were amazed by the sheer number of LSU fans that showed up. Even stated that they were calling it an attack because they felt like they were getting invaded. They still call it "The Invasion". So did they handle the invasion correctly, well I think we all can agree on that. But to remind them of that??? How do you mean?? By repaying the favor?? You will be "that guy" won't you, screaming "you started it!!" from your keg!! Anyway this guy and a couple of his friends are coming into Baton Rouge for the game and since I will be there they are going to call me and I am going to bring them around to certain people I know tailgates. Please let me know where you are tailgating so we can skip that one!!
A few of the bars they call home were taken over by LSU chants. Hokies couldn't handle it, and started a bunch of $hit. Guess you could say they were invaded. :hihi:
