Well another offensive show today. Greg Smith again pitched a hell of a game.That duo of Dirks and Smith is going to be nasty next year. I can see why offensivley UT is doing so well. They have some boppers. Problem is, after Hochi, they have a huge drop off. Thanks to the Hogs, the Tigers have got themselves back in 1st with one weekend to go. Heres my question... Why cant the Tigers seem to win on Fridays. We see on Sat and Sun that LSU is in more cases then not jsut an outright superior team to the competetion. Yet, on Fridays when the tiger "ace" is on the hill, the Tigers lose. I say dont mess with the rotation b/c its working. They are winning series. But, when it comes to regionals or supers, would you consider putting the ball in Smith or Dirks hands first?

I think its a fair question. It's obvious that this team is superior to many teams in this league.Yet, they seem to just give away friday games.It's almost like you expect the Tigers to lose Fridays and win the rest of the weekend. Also, are you guys seeing this game on ESPN? Ok and OK ST at the Redhawks AAA field. Thats one of the nicest AAA parks I've seen. It's right up there with the Park In Memphis. Man I wish we could get a good AA or AAA team here in town and have a gorgeous park like that Down Town or something.

The answer is that good pitching beats good hitting.... LSU can't hit an ace... been saying it all year... ill take 2-3 everytime though
OK. I'll spell it out for you. Mestepay is having trouble locating his out pitches. He still has good stuff, but he is not the pitcher he was before the surgery. He's getting lit up every week, but Smoke feels he's shown enough to warrant sticking with him (That's Smoke's decision to make and I don't question him). This is not new, insightful information. This is common knowlege. Every baseball fan here knows why we haven't consistently won Friday night games for 2 years now. It's not a mystery. As a supposed "Sports Authority", you should know that.
