Texas Tigers if you watched the Georgia Auburn game last year you would understand what this game meant to us. With all the cheap shots and fighting that went down this was the game we were most excited to play. Also remember Auburn is our most hated rival so yes, beating them in the fashion that we did was a big high. To Tigers in TX, you are trying to throw GT's rushing yards in my face and it isnt going to work. Georgia Southern rushed for 302 yards against Alabama so does Alabama have a bad run defense? Of course not, teams that constantly run option plays and chop block can gain significant yards against even the best of defenses. Also remember that Georgia had several defensive stars out of the South Carolina game with injury. Onceanlsufan is the one person I have seen so far to post up a valid argument. I did not want to use only the last five games for stats because of injuries for Georgia. Mainly it was that our top receiver was out for one of those games and our top running back was out for 3 of those games. Also our normal second string running back Richard Samuel was out for the last 4 of those 5 games plus defensive injuries here and there. Nevertheless you post a valid point about the last five game performances. I guess I should have specified that UGA has the better run defense (which I believe would be most important against the LSU rush attack). Against the same opponents UGA holds opponent offenses to about .8 yards per rush while LSU allows about 2.8 yards per rush.
Yeah too bad he won't gain the popularity that laduck or tappy achieved, he don't have enough time. But enough time to surely give him his own thread.
So when you throw stats around it's legit and all good, but when someone responds you say "it isn't going to work"? I'm actually glad you're confident. I'm confident LSU will win by at least two scores.
We're going to kill UGA on special teams. You guys give up mOre per punt return than we've given up total. Looking at the ncaa stats lsu has a giant advantage in overall stats and especially on special teams.
Not true. Several members are throwing stats right back at you but apparently you pick and chose the ones you want to talk about. I'm still waiting on a response to this one: Total Points allowed on season: Georgia- 213 LSU- 127 (with a harder schedule)
Dark the reason I said it wasn't going to work was because that is ALL the GT offense is built on, just like Georgia Southern. Yea GT rushed for 243 yards but that was also with 53 attempts. The bees only completed 6 passes the entire game. Same thing with Georgia Southern vs Alabama. GS ran for 302 yards but only completed one pass for 39 yards in the whole game. The point is no matter how good the run defense may be a team that runs 53 times in a game is bound to get some rushing yardage. However a team cannot survive by only rushing and cannot score quickly enough to win most ball games. If one says that UGA has poor run defense because of the GT game than they also must say that Alabama has poor run defense because of the GS game. This is all I meant by saying to Tiger in TX that his stat is insignificant and will not work. Also please tell me besides the obvious Alabama and Arkansas games, how your schedule is so much harder than Georgia's?
