The great news is we won this game easily without a lot of help from Chaney. They obviously keyed on her the entire night. Great to see Thomas and Hightower come through like that from the outside. That was the difference in the game, which made it so much easier to go down low to Big Syl.

LSU will be slight favorites to beat Rutgers. Game will more than likely end up in the high 30s, low 40s as these are the 2 best defensive teams in the country right now.

White reminds me so much of our previous little mighty moe at point.

Sylvia Fowles is the best post player ever to play the women's college game. Athleticism we have never come close to seeing for a woman her size. Even that pass from the top of the key for an easy layup shows you she could be a weapon in the passing game as well if necessary. That male announcer was creaming all over himself talking about Syl last night.

is there any doubt this game is going to come down to free throws? if sylvia hits close to 70% and stays out of foul trouble I like their chances.

Or it could be that in the face of adversity, this team has put a shield over themselves to block out the world and focus on the team. They have the past experience of being in these situations and now have incentives. Everyone is walking on glass while interviewing them as the Pokey situation was delicate. I think this team is poised and ready. We'll see if they can be consistent over the next game and hopefully two games.

The problem is that Sylvia is not a very good free throw shooter. I hope other teams don't adopt a hack-a-Shaq mentality when she gets the ball down low. Of course, other teams would need a whole bunch of players to do so as Syl can foul out the whole back line in one game.

I have to agree with you Tirk! I was at a bar in Miami last night and convinved the boys to turn off the Heat game early so I could watch the girls game! So to say the least there were like 10 guys watching the game with me! Sylvia is from Miami which may have been the only reason they finally agreed! Anyway at the end of the game every last one of them said something to the effect that the game was one of the best executed basketball games they have ever seen! They were amazed they were watching college much less women! It was a good night and I loved getting the props from all these damn Miami fans!!! BYW, every one of them said they were going to watch the Rutgers game (did I make fans out of them???)

I think her best course of action right now is to dissapear, any publicity right now probably isn't going to be good for her, even if she has good intentions

During the games they keep mentioning that you can buy/download/something every complete game in the tourney from somewhere. Does anyone remember where?

This was a game I'd like to watch again. I was a bit too nervous that it would all fall apart in the 2nd half to really appreciate it. =)

:bball: Great game!!! I just wish the announcers would not "explain" the coaching situtation so much! The teams has adjusted so just let it go!!

I thought the announcers actually used quite a bit of restraint. In fact, I remember thinking that if I didn't know why LSU's coach was no longer with the team, it would've aggravated me because they kept mentioning she was gone. I think they only said "sexual misconduct" once.
