Our defense is killing us. Naccarata has been fine recently at second, but we just don't have a true shortstop. Now Mestepey has just been struggling just about every outting this year. I'm not so sure if he'll get it back.
I really did not expect losing Aaron Hill would leave such a large vacuum in the middle. I do believe that Horwath is the best defensive SS on the team and would do fine. Hebert is certainly a quarter talent of Aaron Hill and it shows. This problem needs to be fixed ASAP, b/c not only are we losing any shot of catching Piss, but we cannot win in the regionals playing this inconsistently. Everyone realizes that anything less than Omaha is unacceptable based on the hype and real talent we have this year. There won't be a better opportunity.
