Well...it's so common that you'd think I'd be used to it by now. I have a disabled son and I know lots of disabled kids that are simply the light in the worlds of all who know them. It gets to me when people cast a negative light on them, but I understand why it happens. Before my son was diagnosed and I was born into their world, I was just like the idiots who come up with those memes. Until it hits close to home, a person truly cannot understand.
Although i had honestly completely forgotten about it when i did that pic, once i got your message it hit me that you had just.posted a thread in recent history with Skip, Katz, and the Boss with your son at a baseball camp (which was a great thread). Trust me, my apology was sincere. My memory really failed me bigtime there. Regarding disabled children, I've been blessed to get to spend more than my fair share of time having fun with them, and they really are lights in the world
ESPN on how many people watched the NCAA Regional action alone: Overall, ESPN2 and ESPNU combined to reach 11,680,000 viewers ESPN3’s coverage of LSU vs. Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday, June 2, is the network’s most-viewed NCAA baseball game, logging 136,000 unique viewers
QUESTION --- Is the 136M that viewed LSU vs L-L on June 2 the most viewed on just ESPN3 or including ESPN2 and ESPNU...? Even if it's just the most viewed from ESPN3, that's quite a feat, but if it's most viewed including ESPN2 and ESPNU --- That's incredible. Anyway, I'm sure getting excited about this coming Friday's game and the series, but the forecast t-storms will make it even more interesting. Geaux Tigers...
Unless he inadvertently forgot the last 3 zeros, that's 136k, not m. 136k does seem kind of low for the most viewed game (even if you had to watch it from an Ipad/laptop/computer), but 136m would seem on the high side. 136k would seem like the most sensible number.
just ESPN3...if only 60% of the 4.6 million people in Louisiana (2.76 million) had high speed internet access and access to the ESPN3 or other stream... and if you figure 300,000 people were watching the 136,000 screens tuned into ESPN3 (not to mention those that were tuned into the other streams of the game)......that would mean 10.9% percent of the people in Louisiana who could watch the game did watch the game, which would be outstanding... and that's not to mention all the people that listened to it live on radio-only
24 hours to first pitch. weather is currently terrible across East Texas, South Louisiana, and Mississippi... but the good news is that the two forecasts i checked forecast no rain for the weekend...

today, Baseball America, published an interview with a coach that faced LSU, and gave him anonymity in exchange for his candor. this is what he said about our line-up: "they can really hit 2-6 in the lineup, with Bregman, Rhymes and Katz and Ibarra and Jones. The only knock is they are really, really righthanded, but those guys are great players, and they’re older—with the exception of Bregman, he’s got a different gene pool than everybody else playing. The question is, are they too righthanded? ... Ibarra has baseball skill, baseball savvy, a great defender at third. Bregman’s a freak show, Jones has figured it out, and Katz is an underrated defender at first. ... “The thing about them, the good teams have a guy or two in the middle. They have four guys that maybe aren’t going to run one out of the yard, but if you make a mistake, they can ram one in the gap. Rhymes being the fourth of the four, Bregman and Katz. Even Ibarra turned out to be a good player, and JaCoby Jones is good. They just have five legit guys in their lineup that can hit a double or triple. ... “I think what Bregman’s done this year is beyond special. What he’s done offensively and defensively, how consistent he’s been, and he’s hitting in the middle of the order for a great team. It’s not like he’s hitting in the 9-hole. Opposing pitchers are absolutely bearing down on him, and it doesn’t matter. Gosh, he is special. And I know we use that term too often, but man, he is special. He’ll wear out both gaps, he’ll hit fastballs, he’ll hit breaking balls. As a hitter, he’s just very under control, looks like he sees the ball well. A lot of young guys look jumpy, but he doesn’t. There’s no way this kid’s a freshman, there’s no way. “Katz will scare you because he’s just strong, still kind of a pull approach and you feel like he’s got some holes, but hey, he’s strong. If you leave a ball out over the plate he can pull it to left field for a home run. He’s a senior with strength who’s been around the block. Rhymes, he’s going to get his hits ... Bregman’s a good runner, plays faster than whatever he runs the 60 in or down the line. Obviously JaCoby Jones is really athletic. He is tooled up, and he’s making progress. As a coach you love him, you’d love to work with him. ... he got it going in the second half."
