If I'm Ferentz, I fire my DC after this game for allowing LSU to run the ball this well with no semblance of a passing game. I would have had 9 in the box on every play.
Before we emphatically state this will be LSU's offense next year, let's remember this is Jennings' first start, the running game is working well, and the defense looks great so far. I believe we'll see more of a run/pass balance going forward.
You guys are being kinda harsh on Jennings. I see A LOT of upside. Having enough presence to recognize where the line of scrimmage was after being flushed, not forcing passes (no int's), extending plays with his feet, etc. The option to the short side did bring a JJ flashback but I find we're throwing the ball quite a bit for a first time starter. We're not completing as much as I'd like but it is his first game. This experience will serve us well next year. Oh and we're up 14 nothing. Stump a fucking Hawkeye B.....I.....T.....C.....H.....E.....S!
