We do not need to fire our o-line coach. We've had 6 different starting units in 7 games. We've got true freshmen at both tackle spots, and a sophomore is the best guy in the room. We will get better (after a slow start, they were actually very good tonight). We do need to fire our special teams coach. Its not just that we keep muffing punts. Our coverage has been terrible. We got four ST penalties in the Auburn game alone. We got an illegal formation penalty on a punt tonight. We had the FG/XP blocking issues in the opener. With the exception of the place kicker, our special teams have been horrible across the board this year. It ain't his fault Bech let a punt bounce off his facemask, but there's too much wrong for it not to fall back on the coach.
Good job by Kelly and denbrock, hell, qb and wr coaches get credit. I like house but his unit got worked a little too much.
Unless one of the penalties was for targeting which was confirmed I don't think there's a suspension.
As I was in the back brushing my teeth a couple of minutes ago, I caught myself singing Won't Back Down... "Heeeeyyyyy, Baby...there ain't no easy way ouuuutttt..." Make it stopppppp!
I'm a big Tom Petty fan. That said, yes, I know he's from Gainesville, but did he even attend UF? I don't think so!
Agreed. Outside of the abomination of the Tenn game with an all around bad coaching performance and effort, Special Teams have made all the other games closer than they need be. Which takes away from what Kelly is doing because we seem to be better than I thought. To add, it’s attention to the small things that seem to bite us in the ass. Given where we were last year, it could be a lot worse but we have a hard road ahead of us still.
